Miracles

I really liked the lesson in Relief Society on Sunday.

We talked about miracles and how they are things that happen that seem impossible, but with God ALL things are possible. Without God nothing is.

I have always been a very independent person and am proud that I have always worked and saved to take care of my needs.  I enjoy being able to have the ability to do whatever I want and not have to rely on anyone else to make things happen.  It's freedom.

I am the oldest child in my family and I grew up a lot after my parents divorce and again when I moved to college at 17.  My mom always taught me to be independent and I think that my parents appreciate now that they taught me how to do that.  Teaching children how to be successful in life is pretty much what a parents job is.

To some extent I have had the mind set that it is my responsibility alone to take care of myself because I am capable and that is only fair, but it helps me feel accomplished and appreciate the things that I have worked for also. Unfortunately it has also caused me to feel less sympathy for others who don't take responsibility for their life like I think they should.

I agree deeply that people cherish more the things they have worked hard to obtain.

Believing to much in yourself though is not what the gospel is about.  Thinking that you don't need anyone is not the way life was designed to be.

As I have gotten married I have learned so much about the right way to rely on people.  Whether it is Kyle, the Savior or family and friends we, as people, are meant to help others around us, each in unique ways.  We each contribute to the building of the kingdom of God on the earth and each of us is required to use what we've been given to make sure we all make it back to God's presence together.

I would not be able to completely fulfill my mission on earth without my husband, nor would he without me.  He is my biggest support.  Without Christ's Atonement nobody would be able to receive salvation or exaltation.  Each of us rely COMPLETELY on His sacrifice for us in order for His plan of happiness to work.

Everything that God requires us to do as members of the church isn't possible without His help.  We won't be successful on our own.  Luckily He has promised His help to us, all we need to do is ask.
"God doesn't give us what we can handle.  He helps us handle what we are given."
I believe we can't handle most trials we are faced with unless we involve God.

Each of us needs to give our best effort by sacrificing our time, desires, possessions, hunger, our will, talents etc... and then trust in God's timing because I know that God always keeps His promises.

We need Him and if we rely on Him and trust in His power and in His word then we will see

MIRACLES.

Are we not all beggars?

You would think we have children the way we watch Disney movies! The other day Kyle took Finding Nemo out of the DVD player to put in Cinderella and it made us both laugh.

Our collection started with one of our favorites, Fox and the Hound.

I just love Disney movies because they are so cute and funny! My kids will need to watch all of them before we can go to Disneyland together! haha I will make Family Home Evenings out of it with all the great Gospel truths that Disney ties in!

I still have a long way to go to complete my collection, but I enjoy watching the classics I have until that happens.
