Elsa Ice Castle

Thursday night we went to the Ice Castles in Midway! Elsa Ice Castle.
I've been wanting to go for a few years. We almost made it last year too and then they all of a sudden they closed cause it got too warm.
I LOVED them though! I had no idea how big they were once you got inside.
There was so much to explore.
There were a few different ice slides that we went down. In my snow pants I FLEW down!
Kyle was a little nervous at first cause the kids could fit into little ice tunnels, but we didn't know where the exists were or where to find them when they'd come out!
There was a big water fountain in the ice that Tai thought was hilarious. Even though she kept getting in trouble for eating the slush everyone had been walking on.
And the lights inside of the ice were mesmerizing, especially how they'd change colors.
They had a "professional" photographer there to take pictures of people.
But she never even stopped to ask to turn the flash on. Which is why I hate handing my camera to anyone. They usually could not care less about getting a good picture.
Luckily we ran into Katey there and she got a better picture for us.
We also found an ice Olaf that Kasen gave a good hug to.
We stayed almost 2 hours and I could've stayed longer if Kyle didn't have to work the next morning.
Tai never even complained about her toes being cold until we got to the car. Poor girl!
I love our "fireplace"! That spot in front of the heat is where it's at.
What is up with kids? She wants to wear all the bows and he wants to wear all the underwear!
Everyday he puts them on and I call him captain bubble butt.
Then he takes them off later cause they hurt him. Haha
  • This week Tai said, "time out" so I asked her if she was wanting me to put Kasen in time out. She said "No",  so I asked if she wanted to go to time out. "Yes." So she went to her room, shut the door and went to sleep on her floor!
  • I love when she says, "mom, follow me!" Even though it's usually when I don't want to get up.
  • I love how when she talks she always holds out the last word super long.
  • When she gets scared or is mad she yells "BAH!" Usually happens when we tell her to take her thumb out of her mouth. We had to stop using the thumb guards cause they were giving her wrists a major rash.
  • When we play ring around the rosie and we all fall down, she jumps up and lands square on her bum!
  • While watching The Little Mermaid this week Kasen said, "Mom, I want to get married in the temple. But also he thinks Ariel got married in the temple...
  • He is always telling everyone he loves them! All day long.

Home Improvements

Ever since Kyle got his new TV for Christmas we've been changing things up, doing a little redecorating and getting rid of some old stuff to make room for some new stuff!

I am feeling good because I have recently sold 2 lamps, a side table, coffee table a TV console and got rid of our big screen TV downstairs to make room for furniture that I actually picked out and wasn't just given. Although I super appreciate all the furniture that was given to us when we got married!

Kyle mounted his new TV upstairs then we moved our old TV downstairs so we had to get rid of the big screen, which gave us space for some of those cube storage cubbyhole shelves that I've wanted for all of the toys downstairs! They are all hiding now.
The old TV console looked too small and short upstairs so we sold it and got a new one WITH a fireplace! I'm half way to my dream of having a fireplace and a hot tub :) Super excited! Now I get to decorate the mantle, which is perfect cause I've been wanting a big shelf to decorate ever since we got married.
This is the mess we need to clean up downstairs now though. Kyle was so excited to mount that TV that we didn't notice that there was no outlet near it!

I'm usually not very good at having ideas about how to decorate, but I did have one idea of my own!
A collage wall in the downstairs play room. I took a bunch of pictures of my kids to find a few pictures I wanted to hang with it.
I thought about putting clothes on him first, but that is not real life. He's never wearing clothes at home. He strips them all off the second we get back from anywhere. That's what I'll remember when I see these pictures. How he was always in his underwear!
With all the toys moved into the cube bins there is actually some room to play on the cars mat in his cubbyhole now.
"Hello! Hello Hello."
My favorite thing about this picture is her toes.
She was spinning around, but instead of having her arms outstretched to spin she had all her fingers, in her gloves, interlocked. It's the little things!

All finished!
The Disney prints have been in my cedar chest since 6th grade and I just found them and thought they would be perfect playroom decoration as part of the collage wall.
Thanks Ashley for coming with me to IKEA to pick out frames and cubbyhole bins!
She's been helping me with decorating advice since she is a pro at it and I have no idea what I'm doing.

Other than that, 2018 is officially documented!
Every year I make a new calendar, print my blog into a book, put our home movies onto DVD and print pictures to hang up in our bedroom and in the collage frame I have in our hallway.
Our family history.
The only kind of family history work I am good at doing unfortunately.
All of my projects are done for now. I'll wait a little while to gather more ideas for decorating the fireplace :) And just keep working on cleaning my kitchen floors a little bit every day. I had no idea how dirty they were until I finally figured out that magic erasers could clean them! 1 eraser cleans about 6 tiles. I have 150 tiles...
