Memorial Day Cabin Stay

We got to go stay at the Eason's cabin in Parowan again and it made for a great Memorial Day weekend with our friends! We enjoyed lots of R&R.

We got there Saturday afternoon and did a session in the Cedar City Temple that night.
Lindsay and Trevor had all 5 kids asleep when we got home too!
We went to the playground 3 times while we were there and of course Kasen and Tai fought over the swings. Kasen liked spinning Tai in the swing though so it's a good thing she thought that was fun.
2 of the mornings there we woke up to find Kasen in Tai's crib with her just playing and laughing. And putting a pillow on her head, but she's fine.
Lunch, Popsicles, bubbles and naps on the deck outside were super nice. The weather was perfect all weekend.
The boys took the boat out to go fishing one morning and brought back 6 good size fish. One of which Kyle caught! I convinced them to bring them back to eat so that's what I had for dinner :)
The boys also went golfing while we were down there so that morning we took the kids to a little duck pond to feed the ducks! And the ducklings. And the mean goose.
Tuesday evening we took the kids fishing and mine were both wet from the waist down by the time we left. They loved splashing in the water.
Look at how cute all the dads are, fishing with their kids. It's the best to watch dads be so sweet with the littles.
Corby wanted Hank to catch a fish and he did! The only one anyone caught.
Then we went back to the cabin to make S'mores! And sit by the fire, before we played Munchkin.

We were up till 2 am pretty much every night either talking or playing games. So much fun! We booked a cruise with these guys in September too (since 3 of us are turning 30 in the same week) and cannot wait!

Things we learned at the cabin:
  •  The bottom rack of the oven cooks pizza faster than the top rack
  • It costs $12 to rent temple clothes now
  • Relighting briquettes causes a small fire ball that will singe Trevor's arm hair
  • Poprocks Oreos
  • Kasen can keep sticker earrings on longer than any other child
  • Knox looks cute wearing a bow
  • Lindsay still doesn't like fish
  • Becca could sleep all day if you let her
  • Corby can use his auctioneer cards on me twice in a row!
  •  Quinn has no problem eating ice cream off of a sewer lid
  • Tai knows how to sing the McDonalds theme song
  • If you aren't balanced on the hammock, you will fall off
  • Geese can stick our their tongues and also hiss
  • Sonny Boys is Charlies now
  • Hank thinks Steve is a really, super weird name
  • and Kyle gets more sarcastic the more tired that he is

Summer: Day 1 and 2

This is my new spot. In the words of Sheldon Cooper: "THIS is MY spot."
All. summer. long.
To celebrate my new spot we made the first s'mores of the season last night.
The weather was so perfect! The Gneitings even came over to hang out with us for a bit too.
I know the real first day of summer isn't till June 21st, but I'm saying that summer is already here. And I will tell you why:
We swam in our pool for the first time today and the kids were in their swimsuits ALL day long!
We ate dinner outside in their swimsuits and then swam some more. AND we also ate our first Popsicles! Hazel and Hyde came to swim with us for a little bit today too.
Hopefully I've properly instructed Kasen on how to eat his otter pop for next time because he cut his mouth and got blood everywhere this first time...
Kasen in his "googoo goggles" is my fav and how Tai crazy loves the pool.
Her 2T swimsuit is a little small for her 17 month body, but hopefully it lasts for the summer!
Yay for summer fun in the summer sun!
