This month I took Kasen on a date to a John Williams laser light show at the Central Elementary Space Center and he LOVED it! We also stopped at Purple Turtle on the way home.
I also tried a new soup recipe per Kyle's request, Broccoli Cheese with homemade breadsticks too! Happy to eat leftovers every day too.
Kasen, Bentley and I ran the Haunted 5K together again this year! And we all did better than last year too. Kasen was out ahead of me well past the half way mark.
Bentley 24:55
Amber 34:25
Kasen 38:21
At the finish line I asked him if he wanted a banana and he said, "No, I'm not a cannibal!" Haha He's my favorite BANANA! When he asked if I was a minion I told him, "Heck Yes! Cause Minions LOVE Bananas!"
It was a crazy weekend that Kyle and I tag teamed. We were late everywhere we went, one thing starting before the last ended, but we did it! Thursday we had dentist appointments, piano and school pick up all happening at the same time. Friday I had to be to Lego League then Kohen's field trip, then drop the kids off at Lyndseys before my photo session. Saturday we all went to the 5K race, hurried back to the primary program practice, picked Kohen up early for Parkers birthday party, then Collins birthday party, another photo session and back to Krista's for a girls night! Sunday Kolt and I got to watch everyone in the primary program, missed Ashton's Homecoming talk, but we still went to welcome him back home right after.
And the kids did great in their Primary Program minus Kohen apparently swinging his leg up over the front rostrum during it and Kasen being nervous about his accidentally too short hair cut. ALWAYS double check your clipper length, especially when you're getting ready for picture retakes the next day! Oops
I'm not trying to glamorize being busy, but I am proud of us for being there to support everyone and show up when it matters.
We got Booed!
And Kyle cleaned out the garden. The gazebo shades it too much for most of what Kyle planted to grow, but we got our Halloween pumpkins and sunflower seeds from our giant sunflowers (not really sure what to do with them)!
All I really want are a ton of strawberries so I can make homemade strawberry jam someday. Besides that I don't feel like the price of planting a garden is worth it. I don't enjoy tending to it either. Weeding gardens or flower beds is not my thing. I have too many chores inside my house to worry about, to want to spend any more time weeding outside. The only landscaping I want is lush, soft grass. Which is good because I actually do like mowing the lawn!
Monday, The kids had fun carving their pumpkins. We had to convince Kasen that the side of his pumpkin that the potato bugs ate looked like zombie brains and then he was willing to carve it.
He carved it without putting his hands inside it too. He won't put his hands in to touch the guts. Kyle told him if he ever gets a deer on the hunt that he'd have to gut it though... Kasen says he'll just miss then!
Tuesday our ward had a Trunk-or-Treat again! Our family dressed up as Greatest Showman circus freaks, with Banana Kasen. I guess I wasn't very easily recognized as the Bearded Lady though cause a couple kids thought I was Jesus... Haha
Kolt loves candy and Kyle loves Kolt's blue eyeballs!
I love our Circus. It's crazy, it's fun and it's full of laughs.
THIS is the Greatest Show to have a front row seat for.
