Toy Story Halloween

It took some convincing to get Kasen to be Woody instead of Spiderman, but we did it!
I just love family themed costumes too much.
When I told him he could be both (meaning Spiderman for some parties and Woody for others) he thought I meant he would be both at the same time, like a half and half deal...
Once he committed to Woody though he was very strict about his costume. "Mom, I need a belt and those things on Woody's boots and Woody's shirt has squares on it, but that's okay and Woody's badge is yellow, not gray." I'm super glad he relaxed about it and was happy being Woody.
They even held hands because "Woody loves Bo Peep."
I thought about buying the Spirit Halloween Woody costume, but I just couldn't justify spending the money on a onesie that wouldn't even keep him warm to trick-or-treat. There are pajamas cuter than that costume. So I just had to piece it together by hand! Dyed the yellow shirt myself and everything. I think I spent half of what that other costume cost too.
Luckily I liked the Bo Peep costume at Costco cause I couldn't have pulled that one together by myself!
 "I'm Woody, Howdy Howdy Howdy!"
Found the perfect shoes for her costume at DI, $2. Love when that happens!
We went to Kasen's little Halloween program at preschool yesterday and he was the biggest GRUMP in the world. He didn't sing a single word of his songs for us.
Then at about midnight last night Tai got out of bed and threw up everywhere.
I was hoping it was just a one time thing, but when she woke up an hour later and threw up again I set up our camp out in front of the fireplace in the front room.
She woke up about every hour to throw up. A little after 6:30 she had thrown up 6 times. And then one more time around 11:30am.
The worst part of being a parent is watching your babies be sick. The morning of your favorite holiday. The day before leaving on your dream Disney vacation! Luckily she's seemed better after a long nap.
So Grammy Tammy came down, we made our traditional Halloween dirt cup and white chicken chili and then headed out trick-or-treating with our friends around the neighborhood!
And the Fife's made scones again! That is Kasen on the left side listening to Woody's Roundup that Brother Fife offered to play him on the banjo!
Tai didn't care much for walking up to actually trick-or-treat, but didn't want to go home either. She just held her candy and came along for the ride.
Kasen would run ahead and then let us know which houses had nobody home. We kept reminding him to only ring the doorbell once and only take one piece of candy! He kept wanting to get the candy himself, but by the end of the night even when people said he could take two he'd say, "My parents say only one." He's so cute.
I love my Toy Story family!

Monsters and Aliens BOO

Our last 2 young women's activities have been so much fun! Tonight we had a Halloween party with all the girls, which included mummy wrap, donuts on a string, Halloween family feud, costume contest AND dancing to Micheal Jackson's Just Dance THRILLER!
Last week we made some Halloween treats to go Boo/Spook 10 of our neighbors.
My Mom Annette taught us how to make these witch hat cookies way back when I was little and we'd Spook our neighbors with them growing up. #nostalgia
I also took the kids to Monster story time and Alien story time at the library this month!
They do kids crafts afterwards and my favorite is the teeth that Kasen comes home and makes all by himself. The rest of the kids craft projects are a parents worst NIGHTMARE. Because the pieces fall off and they will not stop asking for glue and tape to put them back together again. ALL THE LIVE LONG DAY. #Trash
Tried making some spooky fun eyeball jello for the kids, but the eyeballs just float. Upside down.
But it looked kinda cool from the bottom at least!
 TAI
-has been super into Elsa and listening to Elsa in the car and having me sing the entire soundtrack to her at night. She asks for the "cutting the ice" song and "Elsa running away", but the funniest thing is that I have been hearing her say "I can't live like this anymore!" quite regularly. She is always wearing her "Elsa" gloves everywhere and even has Kasen doing skits from the movie, taking her glove, with her!
-Also, Kyle has taught her about eating bread balls (literally a piece of bread squished and rolled up into a ball) and now she requests a bread ball for her meals.
KASEN
-has a big wart on his middle finger that we've been trying to get rid of. We tried freezing it and now we're doing the band aids.  I love how he says "wert" though and when he traces his hand he draws a big, giant circle on his finger and tells me that is his "wert". Haha
-When we go to the park he pretends all the tunnel slides are black holes.
-He also can buckle and unbuckle his car seat straps all by himself, but if he ever falls asleep in the car he wakes up from his naps mid sentence talking, unbuckles himself and is standing up before you ever know he's awake! Instead of head popping off the the pillow, it's body popping right out of the carseat. So funny.
Other than that I have just been living in front of my "fireplace" AKA a hot light bulb. Mostly after my kids go to bed, wishing they had bunk beds. lol Tai keeps wanting to sleep in Kasen's room with him and sometimes goes in there even in the middle of the night.
But Peeka gets me. Maybe she is my kindred spirit more than I know...
We got to go to Payson for our monthly temple date this month!

All the Fun With All the Friends

It has been such a fun week this week! I just love my friends. They are the best friends.
Yesterday morning the Skittles made a come back at the Haunted Half 5K race in Provo! Becca and Ashley even still came to run with me even though they had both been sick last week. They are freakin rock stars! I didn't do nearly as well as I did last year and even though Kasen wanted me to win I let him know that I did my best and had so much fun! I always love seeing them wave to me any time I get to run by them.
This was the 15th race that I have run. 32:55
Later that night I was super excited to finally go with Ashley to see our friend from college, Alex Velluto, perform at the Wiseguys Comedy Club at Jordan Landing, but it pretty much turned into a disaster of a group date. Kyle really wanted to go to the Utes game. He was offered free tickets by two different people, but I told him no. Then Becca wasn't going to come cause she was sick, but changed her mind later that day, even though she was still sick. Then on the way up we realized that Ashley and Lindsay forgot their IDs and there is no wiggle room when it comes to getting into a club without an ID, no matter how much you promise them that we don't drink! So Ashley and Steven went home and Lindsay went to a movie by herself while 5 of the 8 of us actually made it into the show!
Alex is one of the most awkward people known to man, but I enjoy his shows. He talked about how Little Ceasar's is the prostitute of pizza, it's not good, but it's still pizza... and the funny thing about that is that while we were working at Inkley's together one night, I asked him to get me a $5 pizza on his way into work and then proceeded to reach my lifelong goal of eating the entire thing, by myself, in less than 1 hour! Then he wrote the Pizza Song that I can no longer find on YouTube. But it goes like this:
"I bought her a pizza, she ate the whole thing.
She was so happy that she started to sing.
She was tired and little bit sick,
but she didn't care, grabbed her guitar and pick.
She sang, I didn't think I could do it, I proved myself wrong.
That's why I'm singing this pizza song."

We had a flour fight with him one night that was pretty fun too. Then we went back to the store, covered in flour, to buy more flour. Good times.
The good news is that Cold Stone was still open on our way home this time so Kyle bought me some ice cream to help me feel better about not reminding everyone to bring their ID.

Wednesday night we got to go see the Jazz beat OKC 100 to 95.
For Kyle's birthday present, I was going to send him to a Utes football game with Jon, but Kyle decided to plan a Jazz game group date night instead, which was a blast!
We went to dinner at Lucky 13 before the game. Kyle got a jalapeño, habanero burger then told us afterwards that there was lots of heat, but it wasn't hot...

Earlier this month we got invited to go to another one of Katey's epic Halloween parties! Harry Potter themed, including rides on their "flying car" through the woods to see giant spiders and dementors. She did an amazing job and I even won a first place prize for the best Halloween treat, my pumpkin chocolate chip bread. And we ran into the cutest little Buzz Lightyear while we were there!
I love friends that love Halloween. My kind of people :)
And Cozette took me out for my birthday earlier this month! So I have been able to have so much fun with all of my best friends this whole month. I'm so lucky to have them all in my life.
