January

Grammy Tammy gave us a Thanksgiving Point Membership for Christmas and we've already used it 4x this month!
Kyle and I took Kohen and Kolt to the Natural History Museum, where Kohen dressed up like a pterodactyl and Kolt was an "alien-tologist" They had lots of fun.
We even tried a new Greek place, Padeli's for lunch.
Grammy even got to come with us to the Butterfly Biosphere on MLK Day.
Thanks Grammy!
We also went there with EmmaLee one day and rode the carousel this time. At first Kohen wasn't a fan, but then asked to ride it 2 more times so we rode it 3x in a row!
I love that Kohen and Keslee both have their cowboy boots on.

Since Eagle Mountain doesn't have any street lights, and other standards to reduce light pollution, Kelly brought his telescope here and Hayden, Lyndsey and Kyley all came over to see the planetary parade that happened. We saw Saturn, Jupiter and Mars. But you couldn't see them all in a line at the same time like the news made it seem... We all had hot chocolate though so that was fun!
Kyle took Bentley ice fishing again with Christian and I got to go to a girls night at Lyndsey's house where we painted a paint by number picture. Krista and I were the only ones that finished that night. Mine looks like there's a fried egg in the sky, but it was fun to visit while we painted!
I had another fun girls night going to dinner and to play games with Heidi, Chelsea, Kelsey, Allaree and Amy this month too. Love all the laughs!

KASEN is still very literal. He filled out a job application for his classroom and when it asked what strengths he has to do the job of energy supervisor well, he wrote, "fingers". Haha He's the best!

He also told me about his idea to make a s'mores smoothie, but that you'd have to put the ingredients in the blender in order so that it will "taste organized."

At his last orthodontist appointment he lost a tooth! She touched it and it fell right out and almost choked him. A tooth with a bracket on it for the tooth fairy.

Kasen't friend Daisy made him a game for Christmas. Snap the Triangles. It is so detailed too. Such a thoughtful homemade gift!

We got our 2024 home video DVD back and started watching it. TAI was crying during it, telling me that it feels like something is missing. Bless her heart. More nostalgia.

She loves taking care of Kolt. Getting him out of the car, helping him walk down the stairs, singing to him at night before bed and she even asked to wipe his bum the other day! Both she and Kasen want to take turns putting him to bed. She's working hard to get him to say sis"der".

She's also been writing songs. Nature and The Day You Left Me are a couple that she has sung to me so far.

KOHEN loves laying on Kolt and bugging him, but as soon as Kolt is mean back Kohen will tell me, "Mom! I told you I don't want a baby!" He sure loves making him laugh in the car though. Whenever Kohen pushes he tells us he was just giving someone a "boost". How clever.

Kohen has also started asking, "Why should I listen to you?!" He also loves head butting everyone. It hurts and I hate it.

He is so smart directionally though! In the car, if we ever deviate at all from going where I told him we're headed, he will ask, "Where are we going? This is not the way to _______." How does he know?! He always knows how to get everywhere and where we are in relation to our destination. I get in trouble for any detours.

I love that he calls his big toe his "thumb toe."

His preschool field trip this month was to Inspire Sports and now he wants to do a gymnastics class.

21 months old and KOLT is FINALLY starting to say some words!

He says, EEeee (please), Ou (out), Mo (more milk), mamama and dadada, bubboo (which he kinda says for book and blanket?) and an L sound for hello with his little phone.

Sometimes I wonder how he is alive because he does not eat. He throws everything off of his tray. All of the time. He would eat oatmeal and granola bars, but it kept making his butt bleed. We figured out if we stop feeding him oats then his butt doesn't turn fire red and bleed everywhere. All he will eat is fruit snacks and peppermint candies. That's an exaggeration. He ate some salad yesterday too. And an applesauce. Mostly he's living off of his milk.

He is the most not ticklish kid. And he knows how to not ever crack a smile when anyone talks to him. Opposite of Kohen. Kohen is SO stinking ticklish. Kolt just likes to stone cold stare.

We had a good 2 months of nursery, but now he will not go in there anymore. We can't just let him cry either because he sits against the door and bangs the back of his head against it over and over. His other new favorite thing is taking off the heater vent covers and putting his toys down them.

But I love his whisper, "Rraaa" when he brings me a dinosaur toy!

Kyle and I also got to do a session at the temple this month.
I love temple dates with my forever.

Christmas Break

It's been a pretty chill winter break at our house this year! Tai helped Kohen build his legos and she made the homemade candles in the kit she got for her birthday.
Kohen still says the funniest things. He likes watching football with Kyle, but when Kyle gets really heated about a game and claps, Kohen is there telling him that, "clapping your hands is only for loving stuff!"
-My Christmas bear has a scarf that Kohen likes tied on his head like a ninja. I told him all his friends would tell him what a cool ninja he is! He responded, "No, they'll say Hi Kohen, why do you have that scarf on your head?"
-He has also started to love making his bed. When he's supposed to be sleeping in it at night. He gets up to make it and wants to show us what a great job he did.
Tai has been making us Mac and Cheese for lunch all by herself!
-A few times over the break Tai has told me that she feels like something is missing or that she is forgetting something. Then one night she told me that she knows what it is. "When I see something that reminds me of when I was little, it makes me wish I was little again." I asked what she missed about being little and she wasn't sure, but I told her that is what nostalgia is.
Kyle took Bentley ice fishing and went to Wendover with his dad and Hayden to celebrate Kelly's 60th birthday. While the boys were gone, the rest of us went sledding at Tibble Fork again this year!
Except the weather was much better this time. Kasen and Tai both ended up taking their coats off.

Kohen didn't want to sled down the hill for the first little bit, he just wanted to be the one to push me and Kolt down the hill.
Finally got Kohen to go down with me a couple times though!
pom pom hats and marshmallows in your hot chocolate. What a great day!
Thank you Kyley for all the fun pictures and for the hot cocoa too!

Then today Kohen got to go with Kyle to see Monster Jam! He got tickets for Christmas and has been so excited. He told me about the shark truck, the dragon truck, the grave digger truck and about how one of the monster trucks tried to do a back flip, but landed on it's roof!
