Thirty Two

Well, we are 32 years old now! And we had a good week celebrating our birthdays. As Kasen says, they are family birthdays. For Kyle's we all went to lunch at Tucanos for his free birthday meal! The kids eat free and ate better than they have ever eaten at a restaurant before. Fried bananas, mandarin oranges and tomatoes! And Kyle got his passion fruit mousse, as always. When we got home Kasen and Tai helped me make Kyle's Skor birthday cake and Kasen had me help him pour the toffee pieces into a heart shape on his cake. 

I love how excited Kasen was for Kyle's birthday. First thing he said to me when he woke up was, "When dad wakes up he's going to be 32!" He planned a little surprise for us to jump out when Kyle came upstairs so we could yell surprise and sing Happy Birthday. Kasen picked out the gift bag that looks like Minecraft and put Kyle's gifts in and kept telling Kyle to open it and telling him to eat some cake. The kids both colored pictures for him and I gave him a couple shirts that he picked out.

We just love Kyle! He never closes the bread bag, but he can get Kohen to smile, teaches Kasen to ride his bike and sings to Tai at bedtime. The best!

For my birthday Kyle made me homemade waffles for breakfast and got me a couple cute nursing hoodies. And for dinner he took me out for sushi! The 3 all you can eat sushi places would have gone to were a no go (Sakura isn't there anymore, Sushi Ya was closed and Simply Sushi just wasn't doing all you can eat.) so we finally came back down to Red 8 for dinner. Still delicious. Then had ice cream cake for dessert!

We are getting old and I know that because I also tried running again for the first time this week. I made it 5 minutes and then the next day could not remember why I was so sore.

The Latest and Greatest

 I love how much Kasen and Tai are loving school!

Tai got to take some things in her About Me bag for a show and tell at school and these are the things she took. A picture of Kiwi, her brothers, Frozen II Elsa Barbie and a crayon that's her favorite color, pink! She also had school pictures with her class this week and got to go on a nature walk field trip.

Kasen has been bringing sight words home to learn and I am super impressed with how fast he memorizes them! He does 5 at a time and in the last week he's learned 20 words like a wizard!

Kyle has been the king of getting Kohen to smile. This last week he's really started smiling at us alot! A nice change from the usual grumpiness. 

He is everyone's buddy.

We've been eating all sorts of yummy garden veggie stir fry with our broccoli, zucchini, onion and bell peppers! We waited too long to pick a lot of our corn, but the ones we did pick on time were delicious.

Peeka has been living outside for about 3 months straight because she can't help but try to bite Kiwi's head off, but now that it's starting to get cold outside and Peeka will not stop digging massive holes under every area of the the fence line, we are trying to let her back in and make her be friends with Kiwi again. Kiwi is not a fan! We wrapped her in a towel to make them be by each other and Kiwi literally had the poop scared out of her. Peeka got a bath though and LOVED it! She laid down and let me scrub her for much longer than I thought she would.

Cousin Central

It was quite the weekend of cousins since Naomi, Marc and Tommy came to visit from Texas! Kasen and Tai loved it.

They came to our house on Friday to sleep over so we went to play at Cory Wride Park for a couple hours and then came home to make unicorn chocolate chip cookies. 

I love that Tai and Naomi were both wearing unicorn dresses too. Naomi was so nice to push Tai on the swing! And I love how much she loved holding baby Kohen. She never even minded him crying either.

The next morning we headed over to Discovery Park to play for a little while before going to a BBQ at Mom and Dad's house.

We ended up getting rained out early, but the kids didn't mind playing in the rain for a little while and trying to catch rain drops on their tongues.

The weather got better though and we all had fun riding on Grandpa's golf cart. Kasen's favorite thing was the horn. We told him the neighbors weren't going to like hearing that loud horn, but he said it was okay cause he doesn't know who they are.

Then while he was playing with Steph she told him she was going to toss him. He said she couldn't because that would break his skull and then his brain wouldn't be protected! Haha

 

We were laughing because while we were all there Stephanie got the mail and we all happened to get mail that day we were all visiting! Josh and Marissa came to visit a little later from Arizona so we were just missing Ben.

Then Grandma did a Halloween craft with them and Grandpa let them help make homemade ice cream.

Sunday we went to another BBQ at Grammy Tammy's house. She rented fun bouncy toys again and the kids ate lots of OtterPops.

Sunday was also Kohen's first time going to church! We officially get to go back to weekly Sacrament Meetings now, but before we knew that Kyle had signed up for a nighttime OT shift. So I took all 3 kids to church by myself, ON TIME, at 9am. Be impressed.

Aunt Sandy gave the kids these fun Halloween glasses and all I can think of is Sloth from Goonies. "Heyyy you guuyyyys!" Haha

So glad they were able to come visit. And thank you Kristi for taking pictures!!

On Monday we visited with Josh and Marissa for lunch at the train park before they flew back to Arizona. We played at so many parks over the weekend!

Then stopped at Cold Stone for some ice cream before we headed home.
