A Bunch of HOCUS POCUS

Now that we have both a truck and a yard, I decided to put together a little children's Halloween mini session set up! I gathered bales of straw, corn stalks, pumpkins and pallets and advertised all over social media.
I thought it was super cute and quite a few friends took advantage of the chance to get some cute pictures of their kids! I opened up 14 spots and had 9 sessions schedule so I will count it as a successful first mini session experience.
THANK YOU so much to everyone that came to support me and let me photograph your children. I had so much fun doing it!
 THE LITTLE MERMAID

SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS
(How perfect is this?!)
 THE WIZARD OF OZ
 SUPER HEROES
 And the HUNTERS
Kyle had Halloween off again this year, but since he hates dressing up I convinced him to at least just wear his hunting clothes to be a hunter with us.
His actual hunt may have been unsuccessful this year, but I got him a couple cute deer anyways!

We went to Trick-or-Treat Village on Saturday, but it was too crazy! All the older kids kept cutting us off and Kasen got bored waiting for a turn to trick-or-treat so we didn't stay long.
For dinner we had white chicken chili with corn bread, but I'm pretty sure all Kasen had for dinner was candy! His favorite are the suckers.
We had fun trick-or-treating on Halloween though! Grandma even came to go with us. Kasen was so good at saying "Trick-or-treat", "Thank you!" and "Happy Halloween!"
One house was handing out glow stick bracelets- GENIUS!
Whenever there wasn't anyone home at a house Kasen would walk away, pointing at the door saying, "this one" so I'd have to convince him to come to another one instead.
We only walked down one street, but the weather was perfect and I loved this Halloween!

Fall Fun

I'm really truly beginning to understand why October is the best month ever ever ever. We've had so much fall fun this month! Pumpkin patches are the new splash pad.

We went to EVAN'S FAMILY FARM in Lehi and it is a good little pumpkin patch for small kids!
Kasen isn't scared of the wind when he wears his hood :)
Ashley's family came with us and Kasen had fun in the corn pit, jumping in the hay with Hazel and gathering "flowers". They also got to pet a baby pig! Well, Kasen just kissed it is all.
We saw a scarecrow there and at first Kasen said it was a snowman! Haha

We went there again later with Rebecca, Hank and Quinn Eason. They are our neighbors across the street! Rebecca is on the activities committee with me, she is my visiting teaching partner and Quinn is in my nursery class now! She's also the only one that has asked me to do family pictures since I moved out here! They are so cute on the wall in her front room too!
Last month they invited us over for a pizza and football night with some other neighbors, which was so great to help us get to know more people.
We had lots of fun with them at this farm too! It was warmer so we stayed longer and got to ride the train, run around the little maze, and play some corn hole this time.
Tai had fun riding in the wagon and doing a little rock-a-bye with Kasen. He and Hank found a couple rocking chairs and sang Rock-A-Bye-Baby for us.
PUMPKIN BREAD
I have been baking chocolate chip pumpkin bread like crazy because it is delicious and I am obsessed with it! I have the recipe memorized, but here it is for all of you:
Really it has to bake for more like 1 hour and 20 minutes and the only spices from the pumpkin pie spice that I used were the ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg :)
We've been baking so many treats!
Traditionally, I also started the HALLOWEEN SPOOKS in our neighborhood! I almost got caught at one house, BUT I didn't! I don't think... Every year Kyle says, I hope it gets passed onto you this year, but I don't think this neighborhood passed it around much.

Peeka is still the WORST dog ever to try and take on a walk, so I don't know why I try. It just makes me hate her whenever I do. Next time she's not invited. Also she is in heat for the first time and has been officially banished to the outside cause she is a dang mess.

FALL LEAVES
One Sunday we went on a drive around the Alpine Loop! I LOVED it! Mostly cause there is no cell service :) I don't even remember the last time we went drove around the Alpine Loop! The colors were not near as vibrant as they were in Cedar Canyon, but we still got out to find some yellow leaves and see 2 moose.
And take a picture of the dress Kyle got me for my birthday!
It's the perfect length so that I don't feel uncomfortable about being immodest when I have to bend over.
 Also, it has pockets!

HALLOWEEN PARTY
I have been to 3 Halloween parties in my life and this one was the CUTEST! Ashley did an amazing job putting together the perfect little party for the kids!
And dinner was delicious chicken chili and bread sticks WITH witches brew.
P.S. Gas stations do not sell dry ice even though Kyle might think that they do :)

The kids played pin the bow tie, ghost bowling, and spider fishing, but their favorite for sure was the mummy wrap!
And when Ashley sat down to read some Halloween books Kasen LOVED it!
I love that we are standing the same way! haha
Thank you so much for an awesome party! It was so much fun!
Also, thank you to my friend Cozette for my super cute new hair.
And to Sydney for telling me about this cute new hoodie that I got for my birthday. It's actually long!

PAINTED PUMPKINS
The first day of the deer hunt, while the boys were all gone, we did a few Halloween crafts at Grandma's house! Kasen painted his first pumpkin with Naomi and ate yummy candy corn fruit cups with lunch!
We went to camp with Kyle for his last night of the deer hunt, but he didn't get one this time. He got a chance to shoot and hit one, but after following the blood trail for a while they never could find it.

The next day we went to JAKERS JACK-O-LANTERNS in Springville.
Still the best $2 you'll ever spend!
We walked through the corn maze which made Kasen cry,
Played in the corn pit, which made Tai cry when we told her she can't eat it,
Went down the slide, walked through the straw maze, saw some animals,
And rode the big wagon through the pumpkin patch!

 PUMPKIN CARVING!
We didn't carve a pumpkin last year and the year before that I carved it. I told Kyle we could just let Kasen paint a pumpkin this year, but he surprised me and said we needed to carve a pumpkin!
So that we could roast the pumpkin seeds :)
So it was Kyle's job this year to carve the pumpkin with Kasen.
We tried to get him to stick his hand in there to touch the goop, but he would not!

He did pick out the picture though, so we used the cat stencil to carve him a kitty pumpkin.
We recommend the Goop Scooper! This was the first time I've ever bought actual pumpkin carving tools and it saved my spoon from being bent this year. Totally worth it.

We had one last Halloween dinner before the actual Halloween and we loved seeing the cousins in their costumes!
They played in the pile of leaves and Tai really committed to her character by eating plenty of the fall foliage.
Best month of the year right?!
