Snow Day!

Today we got to go sledding with the cousins at Hayden and Karissa's house!
Kasen didn't love sledding as much as I thought he would, but it was fun going down the hill a few times.
Kasen, Bentley, Kennedy, Kallie and Tikka

This was Kasen's first attempt at sledding and he got dumped!  Rocked his little world, but he still let us take him down a few more times after that :)
Mostly he liked just eating the snow off of his gloves!

This month we got to go to the Provo Temple for our monthly temple date!
Our marriage would not be the same at all if it weren't for the blessings we are able to claim by being able to go to the temple.  They are worth every sacrifice!

I started running again this week too.  So far I can run 7 minutes- #woo woo 10k here I come!

My biggest accomplishment was going to public for the first time outnumbered!  It only took me 7 weeks to go for it.  I went to Ashley's baby sprinkle AND we made it there on time!
I learned that I can't go places by myself outnumbered without help!
Thanks everyone that helped me take care of my kids, I know it was some good practice for me that will hold me over for a long time.

Other good news:
Peeka can go down the stairs by herself now so I don't actually have to take her outside anymore!  We can just open the back door for her!

And something funny:
Besides trying to go check the light on the machines (AKA snowmobiles. That we don't have) while sleepwalking, Kyle also squished my cheeks last night because he thought I was Kasen!
Good times for sure.

Mom FAILS

Mom fail #1. The day I ran downstairs, then heard Tai crying, ran back upstairs to see Peeka had jumped in Tai's swing and was jumping around on Tai and scratched her poor little face :(
Mom fail #2. Giving Kasen a bath, then Peeka starts whining like she needs to go potty.  So I take Kasen out of the tub, put his towel on and take Peeka outside.  It was snowing a blizzard and I turn around to go back up the stairs to see naked Kasen standing on the back porch. Wet. In the blizzard.  NAKED.  Mother of the year right?!

Mom fail #3.  The night when I was legit angry at Tai cause every time I tried to nurse her (to get her to sleep so that I could finally take a shower) she would just cry and somehow her little flailing baby fingernails kept pinching my nipple and the knots in my shoulders were on fire from trying to hold her the right way to get her to nurse!
Good news though, Kyle gave me a rockin back massage so now I don't feel like crying when I have to hold Tai now. Score!

Bad news,
Packers ALMOST made it to the superbowl...

Double strollers are the BOMB! Love them.
But I do NOT love the Kids Place at University Mall.  #1. Why is there a pond in there?! Kasen stomped his little shoe right in it very first thing. #2. Hacky McGee and 50 million other kids were there,
although Kasen had fun going down the slide 3 times, then slathering his hands in hand sanitizer stat.
baby Kasen and baby Tai- same same

I love my little family!
And the fact that I have a reason to actually get ready on Sunday.
The rest of the week I don't do my hair, don't put on make-up or get out of my sweats usually.
I'm the type that cares more about having a clean house than what I look like so I spend my extra time doing that instead.  Bless Kyle's heart for still telling me I look good ;)

The in between shots, right before the "everyone ready" shot, are always my most favorite ones.  They tell so much more than the posing and smiling and I love it.

Day One: What Do Moms Do All Day?

So this was Day One of having the puppy without Kyle here to help in the morning...
It's been especially crazy.
So for anyone who ever wondered what moms that stay home do all day, I will tell you.

I wake up to both Kasen and Peeka crying.
Get Kasen out of bed, change his diaper and his pajamas because he peed through them.
Wash my hands.
Go downstairs to get Peeka out of her crate and Kasen cries because I make him walk up the stairs himself.  Tai is crying.
Take Peeka outside to go potty because she is too little to go down the stairs by herself (It's snowing). Bring in Meeko's dish to get the ice out of her water and feed her.
Feed Peeka and put Kasen in his highchair.
Wash my hands. again.
Get his milk and toast a waffle to give him with bananas.
Take Peeka outside again because she is crying by the door. again.
Get Tai out of bed, change her diaper, wash my hands, then nurse her while Kasen eats.
Sweep up the shredded cheese that Kasen wanted to eat from last night and vacuum up the popcorn that we ate last night after that.
Clean Kasen's hands, and face, and hair, and tray.  Tai is crying again.
Try nursing Tai again.  Take Peeka outside again.
Kasen spills dog food and water all over the stairs.
(I still haven't had breakfast or gone pee)
Clean up the food and water.  Kasen pooped. again. So I change his diaper, again.
Wash my hands. again.
I sit down to eat breakfast and Tai is crying, well screaming.  But, I am hangry.  So I eat, and go pee.  And wash my hands (knuckles now bleeding from washing them so much, no time for lotion.)
Yay!
Then I nurse Tai.  Kasen cries cause he wants me to come with him and throws himself on the floor. Twice.  Snot running down his face.
Wipe his nose.
Get his milk and he is still crying.  He keeps putting his fingers in his mouth so I think maybe he has teeth coming in.  Go get the children's Tylenol.  It's all gone.
Do the dishes from dinner last night, there weren't very many.
Cut chicken and veggies to put in the crockpot for dinner tonight. Kasen is still crying.
I take him to rock in the rocking chair, make sure his blanket covers his toes, read a book and sing.
I take his milk away so it doesn't spill in his crib and he cries again.  Put him down for a nap early.
Yay!
Take Peeka outside again.
I still haven't showered or brushed my hair or brushed my teeth and am wearing the same sweater I have worn for 3 days, but Kasen and Tai are asleep right now!
Yay!
Have to go clean up the books Kasen threw out of his drawer everywhere, eat lunch and give Tai a bath before Kasen wakes up because her neck is stinky and I don't want Kasen trying to climb in the tub with her.
4 more hours till Kyle gets home :)

Meet Peeka!

This is the newest member of our family, Peeka!  I know Kyle wanted a German Shepard, but they are expensive and he bought a gun safe for now instead.
We were able to get Peeka for free :)
She and Kasen are the cutest together! Although I have to keep telling him to stop pulling her out from under the couch by her ears!

Today Kasen is 19 months old and last Sunday he went to nursery for the first time! It was so great!
Our ward has 2 nurseries and the one he goes to has a lot less kids, but he had fun.  I was also called to be on the Relief Society Activities Committee this week.
This is my life right now.
Kasen startling Tai and smooshing Peeka all at the same time.  I hope she's able to give him some good company while I need to give attention to Tai also.
I deal with lots of poop these days and usually feel like I'm yelling at Kasen too much to get out of the drawer and stop rocking Tai and don't spill your milk and be soft with Peeka etc... But he also keeps me laughing all day which makes the other stuff kinda worth it.
I sure love his little face!

They have a love/hate relationship...  She likes to play a little more than he likes sometimes, but he deserves it for the times he lays on her or pulls her tail.

Tai is 5 weeks old and has been opening her little eyes a lot more and sleeping for 6 hour stretches at night, yay!  Now we have to get through Peeka crying at night and we will be good to go!
