Some Things I Have Learned

Just Some Things I Learned in 2016:
1. Infant's iron supplements will stain EVERYTHING they touch!
2. It takes 7 months for your hair to start growing back after you lose it all after having a baby.
3. Police wives get tickets too.
4. Moms don't get sick days, especially on March 25ths.
5. It's possible to run a 5k race while I have the flu.
6. iphones do not support group texts of greater than 10 people.
7. Always address e-mails with "Dear".
8. 8 adults can survive driving to California in a Nissan Pathfinder.
9. Parasailing is worth putting on your bucket list!
10. Kasen does not like when other people touch my tummy.
11. Excellent credit, zero debt and a 10% down payment doesn't get you as far as you'd think when buying a house.
12. Eating more junk food makes for healthier pregnancies overall.
13. I have a mole in my bellybutton.
14. Family wards should always take sacrament to the foyer.
15. The gray in my hair gives it a nice buff?
16. IHC has no policy about not inducing first time moms.
17. California king size beds have the same surface area as a king size bed, just a different dimension.
18. What it feels like to have your water break.
19. Giving birth naturally hurts as bad as they say.
20. I make BIG babies!
21. If your baby spits up blood after breastfeeding, it could be coming from your own nipples!
22. Newman's nipple ointment should be a standard prescription that hospitals send mothers home with.
23.When making a quilt don't mistake 2 1/2 yards of fabric total for 2 1/2 yards of each of the six different fabrics because you can't return cut fabric.
24. Darth Vadar married Queen Amidalla then his legs were cut off and he's pretty much mostly a machine. Oh and Yoda needs a cane to walk, but can do flips when he fights!

I'm feeling good about the goals I set and accomplished in 2016.
I ran a 5k,
Got pregnant (had Tai naturally),
Licensed my photography business (shot 2 awesome weddings),
Read a book (3 actually!),
We paid off our car,
Kyle got hired with Unified, we left Cedar City and Bought a house,
Went with Kyle to the temple every month,
and am still working on reading the Book of Mormon in Portuguese!

Resolutions for 2017:
1. Start building up our 1 year supply of food storage.
2. Run a 10K
3. Get Kyle a puppy

The last two days of 2016 have been spent with my family and have been lots of fun!
Yesterday we went to my dads and ate yummy food, played some games, sang some songs and read a wonderful Christmas book I recommend reading!

I LOVE slush! And so does Kasen :)
Poor Kasen loves the kitties too much, Luckily Meeko puts up with him better than Ginger does!

Today we went up to my moms house and ate more yummy food, played a game where I won $15 and Kasen learned how to drive his little four-wheeler!
Now all I need to do is get Tai to sleep at night the way she does during the day!

Happy New Year to all!
May 2017 be as awesome as 2016

Merry and Bright!

We had a very blessed and Merry Christmas at our house this year!
Our traditional ornament for the year this year was from our cruise back in May when we went parasailing in Catalina Island!  I tried making ornaments with Tai's footprints on them too, but her feet were too big for the ornaments I bought :(
Mom Tammy got the kids some cute santa outfits that we took some pictures in.  We got Kasen to say, "Ho Ho Ho" too, which was pretty cute!
"Ho Ho Ho!" in his Ho Ho hat.
Kasen was better about holding Tai this time, he kept trying to feed her his fruit snacks though!
Then he wanted to carry her off the couch and was getting upset that we wouldn't let him take her.
This is the first year I have been excited to put the Christmas tree away!  The ornaments that Kasen pulls off slowly keep getting put higher and higher on the tree.  I think he has broke a total of 4 of them, but his favorites are the kitty and snowman ones.
On Christmas Eve we opened Christmas jammies, but then Kyle had to go work his graveyard shift :(  p.s. notice how Kasen is flipping his tongue in this pic?! He loves flipping his tongue.
We made cookies for Santa then ate the cookies for Santa!  And watched Frozen.  It's the closest thing to a Christmas movie I have that is animated.  And it's a good movie.
Kyle got off work at 6am and was up again at 8:30 to open presents with us!  First we read a couple pages about Jesus being born in Kasen's Book of Mormon stories book though.
I loved watching him open presents! We just had to show him where the seams were and then he would open them, look at them for a while, then go show dad or have dad take it out of the package!
He got a movie that had to be opened and then he went straight to put it in the DVD player.
He got a talking Elmo that is pretty neat, it says Kasen's name when it plays with him.
This picture is my favorite of the day! Kasen tried out most of the boxes on his head!

 "Squeeze Elmo's nose"

Tai got her quilt that we made for her! When I say we I mean mostly Mom Tammy, I just bought the fabric.  I couldn't find whales like I wanted though so she took it home and hand made whales for me! How awesome is that?!
Kyle got me a red Kitchen Aid for Christmas! And I gave him money and a Petsmart gift card so he can start shopping for his German Shepard puppy!
Later in the afternoon we went to Elkridge and got to talk to Sister Krista!  She's doing awesome down in Texas.
We also let Kasen go play in the enormous amount of snow we got the night before and he was loving it!  I can't wait to take him sledding sometime!!
Kyle told him to lick the snow...
I thought he would have been so cold after we brought him in, but he went straight for the freezer and wanted to eat an ice cube!
Merry Christmas to all!

Milestones

 Yesterday was another milestone here.
Tai turned one week old the same day Kasen turned 18 months old! He officially gets to go to nursery now. (perfect timing right?!)
This was my first time attempting a newborn session at home.  I still need to get some lights and other things, but it still went alright.

Everyday Kasen does some new weird thing that has us laughing.  Kyle has so much fun playing with him, it's the best! He's seen me drink my cereal milk enough times that he wanted to try that this week.  He likes taking his own garbage to the garbage can and he loves eating fruit snacks, oranges and ranch with his pizza and chicken nuggets, but the ranch makes his skin turn bright red!  Last week he went to the dentist for the first time and was so good to let the dentist brush and floss his teeth.  I think he has 12 now?

He likes pointing out Tai's nose, along with his head, tongue, belly, ears and toes on his dirty little feet! I love how much he understands what we say to him, even though he only says words right now.
He wasn't super excited about holding her yesterday though, we'll have to try again another day!
