We got new family pictures with Kyle's family! First one with all the new spouses in it, but new grandkids will keep it changing pretty fast still!

CEDAR CITY – The Cedar City Police Department welcomed two new officers to its roster Wednesday night during the city council work meeting where the two were sworn in.

While officers Kyle Liddiard and Ryan Coleman have been policing the streets for nearly three weeks, Wednesday's action made their position official.

"We're excited to have them on board at the department," said Cedar City Police Chief Bob Allinson.

Allinson said he was pleased with the caliber of applicants the department received for the openings, but felt the police department chose the top candidates.

Liddiard, 25, comes to Cedar City from Pleasant Grove where he attended Utah Valley University, first receiving his bachelor's degree in criminal justice and later his law enforcement certification through the police academy.

Upon graduation from Peace Officers Standards and Training, he was hired on as a UVU campus police officer.

He worked there for six months.

Meet Meeko!

Kyle found me another kitty this weekend.  She will be my friend while he is away and hopefully she doesn't run away because this is the 3rd cat I have had this year!

Kyle hasn't been able to get the red truck he wants yet, but I did let him get his motorcycle.

The rule was that he had to take a defensive driving course first and take the test for his motorcycle endorsement though!

So now I have a husband with a high risk job as a Police officer with a high risk vehicle.

He started his job in Cedar City 3 weeks ago.  He has already been tased and pepper sprayed so hopefully the worst is over.

I didn't think it would be to bad to work a few days and see him on the weekends.  We spent a few months apart when I lived in Hawaii and he was backpacking in Europe, then 2 years during our missions, but being apart now still sucks!

We got to Skype the first 2 weeks, but now I work 7-4 and he works 1-11 so no more Skype time for us :(

I have decided that the only hard part about marriage is not being with Kyle, the rest is EASY!

I'm a Mormon. I know it, I live it, I LOVE it

I forgot that I had made a profile on Mormon.org when I got back from my mission!  It was like reading an old journal, but I love every time I read a testimony I wrote previously because mine is always growing and changing.  I love reading testimonies, I love hearing people bear their testimonies, I love fast Sunday for that very reason. I love the truth, I love conversion stories and knowing all the ways that God brings about knowledge of truth in the hearts of His children.

About Me

I grew up a few years in Australia, but mostly in Utah. When I was 9 years old my parents were divorced and soon after my dad remarried. I am the oldest of the 6 kids. I love spending time with my family boating and tubing, camping and four-wheeling. I love traveling and experiencing new places and things. I am studying photography and love taking pictures and making memories. My husband and I dated for 4 years and after we both returned home from our missions we were married in the Draper Temple. He is my best friend and I have the most fun when I am around him. We have a cute little hedgehog named Pokey and are excited to start our family as soon as we are both done with school.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. I have been blessed with a gift for knowing. I can't identify a specific time when I wanted to know the church was true and received a recognizable answer, but instead just the thought that I already know the truth. Every time I feel the spirit it's another witness that this church is the true church. In my life I have proven that the gospel brings happiness and blessings. As I have seen different people in my life either living the gospel or not I can see that those who embrace the gospel are truely happier. The gospel just makes perfect sense. It gives me hope because I know that everything unfair about this life will made right through Christ's Atonement. Families can be together forever, they are meant to be together forever. The gospel brings safety and peace. When you live it you lose nothing and gain EVERYTHING. Test God's promises. He will always keep them. Christ lives and loves each of us and I know that this church is the ONLY church will the fulness of Christ's gospel restored.

How I live my faith

When I was 12 years old I started the Young Womens program and during one lesson I decided I would read my scriptures, pray and write in my journal everyday, so I did. Back then I was a very "letter of the law" type of person. That caused me to become very judgemental of those who chose not to live as strictly as me. Somewhere along the way I found that that is not how Christ works. If my goal is to be like Him I need to be accepting and love like He does. That is the best way to help someone is by loving example. Now I would say I am more of a "spirit of the law" person. I still try to live close to the spirit, but not at the cost of people I could help. After high school I got to go on a Church History tour to visit Kirkland, Nauvoo, the Sacred Grove, Palmyra, the Hill Cumorah, Carthage and Liberty Jail, etc... It was an amazing and unforgettable experience! I had wanted to serve a mission as long as I can remember so I took institute classes at college and before I turned 21 I started my mission papers. I was called to serve in the Brazil, Campinas mission and there I learned things that I will never regret learning. I learned how to see people with an eternal perspective, how to be grateful for everything I have, how to be a better mom and magnify my callings by knowing how to teach the gospel, how serving a mission blesses your family at home, how to trust in the Lord, and it strengthened my testimony and knowledge of the scriptures. Missions are hard, but worth every moment!

Flaming Gorge x3

Round One:

Dakota and Natasha invited us to go camping at Flaming Gorge and it was so much fun camping with them! The boys went fishing and we made S'mores, went cliff jumping and rafted the Green River. Dakota got a fish hook with a fish fin stuck in his shoe and then the fish he almost caught on the river jumped out after his hook and almost landed in the raft!

Round Two:

The next week we went with Kyle's family to Flaming Gorge for a few days.  I didn't get in the water this time, but we rafted the Green River again, Kyle caught 2 fish AND I finally got to eat one! (Summer Bucket List #4)  Kyley taught us a fun new game called Quirkle and I loved just riding on the boat.

We learned that pregnant fish are super gross and mushy to eat, so if you gut a fish and see eggs then don't eat it!

 On our way home we stopped and did sealings at the Vernal Temple.  Our monthly temple trips are going to get harder once we move to Cedar City.  St George is only an hour away until the Cedar City Temple is built though. 

Round Three:

For Dad's birthday weekend we went to Flaming Gorge again!  We rafted down the Green River not just once, but twice in a row, hitting all the white water waves that we could!

Our family temple trip this month was to Vernal Temple, the last one we hadn't been to in Utah!

Kyle and I weren't able to go on the trip to Monticello so that one is still on our list, but my family has been to the other 12 temples in Utah together!

There is nothing better than playing hard and strengthening testimonies all at the same time!
