Meet Us

Well since I am getting married I feel like I am allowed to have a blog now!  I am super excited too because I love this kind of stuff! I have written in a journal everyday from the time that I was 12 years old until I went to college.  Then it became to be a once a week thing, well until I left on my mission, then it was back to everyday!
I will introduce ourselves though.  We both went to Pleasant Grove High School.  Kyle was on swim team and I was in the choir, but we never knew each other then.  He was in one grade below me.  In my second year of college at UVU I was roommates with one of my friends from my home ward, who happened to be friends with Kyle.  He came to our apartment quite a bit and I started hanging out with their group of friends.  He had braces, yellow hair, and we made a bet.  If he didn’t wake up to go play basketball the next morning he had to take me on a date!  Of course he didn't go.  This was in December and in January I reminded him that he never took me on one.  So on February 8, 2008 we went on our first date!  We went to dinner at McGrath’s Fish House and while we waited to go see Fool’s Gold we went to a park and played on the swings.  During the movie Kyle insisted that I give him my gloves, we all know that he didn’t really want them, so I didn’t give them to him.  I let him hold my hand after he held his out for forever, and finally just took my hand!
That summer I moved to go to BYUH and we talked on the phone everyday, until he went on a 5 week backpacking trip to Europe.  I ended up coming home early from Hawaii and surprising him at the airport when he came home a few weeks later.  It was so much fun!  Kyle is 6 days older than me and about the time we turned 20 there was a turning point.  I had always wanted to serve a mission and Kyle hadn’t, but he finally was open to the answer he needed to hear! So we started preparing to serve our missions.  Summer of 2009 was the best summer of my life so far! We made a list a mile long and did almost everything on it! Kyle and I were together all the time.  We went to church together in the same singles ward, we took classes together at UVU, we worked together mowing lawns, we took institute together, we took temple prep. together, we went hiking, fishing, camping, to the temple, the zoo, snowboarding, tubing, swimming, to concerts, drive-inn movies, the rodeo, baseball games, football games, more hiking, California, Flaming Gorge, alpine roller coaster together, and the list goes on!
We got our mission calls on the same day.  He was called to the Charleston, West Virginia Mission and I went to the Brazil, Campinas Mission.  He left three weeks before me.  We missed seeing each other in the MTC by one day, which was probably a good thing!  We have written letters every single week and are as in love as ever! We talked about marriage long before our missions and while we were out I got a ring so we could say we really were engaged.  It wasn't “the ring” but it was good enough until he got home.  He is my very best friend and I can not wait to be married to him on December 16, 2011!
