We spent the Fourth of July watching the Stadium of Fire at Grandma Liddiard's house. Kyle says that is the only holiday tradition they have!
Before the show we all walked up the the BYU creamery to get some ice cream! My favorite kind right now is Graham Canyon.
Friday night, after the thunderstorm, we tried our faith and went to the drive in! It still rained, but we made it through Despicable Me 2 and Man of Steel. Kelly even let us borrow his truck this time, that was so nice. :) Bentley was my cuddle buddy when we both fell asleep during the 2nd movie. I had so much fun though, thank you everyone for coming with us to the movies!
Now that Kyle is done with the academy summer can start! He is so happy that he passed his last test, 91%!
Wednesday night I got to go camping with the fam up AF Canyon. It started raining in the middle of the night, but watching Max pulling rocks out of the stream was so funny! He rolls them to the shallowest part then puts his face in the water to get the rock. After he puts it in his pile on the bank he snorts all of the water out of his nose! haha
My moms cat just had 5 cute kittens and now that we are getting our own house I get to have one! Kyle and I still haven't decided on name yet though.
Bad news is that we might still be looking for houses The one we started signing papers for turned out to be a shady deal when they came back and said the HOA fee is really $75 instead of $15. I was already nervous about living in an HOA and that is why!
Josh is now a missionary in Honduras! I miss being a full time missionary, but I'm still to grateful for the life lessons I learned on my mission that have made me a better person and a better disciple of Christ. I learned how to better love and not judge people, not that I don't still have a long way to go!
I believe there are 2 types of people: those you love and those you don't know.
Not to mention the gospel understanding and experiences that I gained. I will never regret those priceless memories!
Kyle was done with the academy early enough one night that we got to go to the Strawberry days rodeo and eat strawberries and cream! Thanks for inviting us Whitney! Now I just need to find a way to get Kyle to like taking pictures with me. He will smile for 2 and then he is done! :)
These are the yummy honey chicken kabobs that I made for my families Father's Day BBQ! I was so proud of myself! Kyle wasn't a fan of the Tortolini Soup I made recently, but the Shrimp and Rice Casserole (where my glassware exploded in the oven) and the Cheeseburger Casserole were both added to our list of recipes to try again!
I got to speak in Sacrament last minute on Father's Day. I am so grateful for my dad! I read Cheri Call's "Names" song and it makes me wish that everyone had parents as great as mine so that they may better be able to understand the love that our Heavenly Father has for us. He has perfect love, patience and listens when we pray. He wants so much for us to be happy.
"When I think of the hundreds of prayers that I've prayed there are so many more (names) that I'd add to these, like mathematician, concert musician, mothers physician and listening friend. Who knows all about cars and my broken heart, so the best name would still have to be Heavenly Father."
Using His wisdom He steps back sometimes, as some of the answers we are just meant to find for ourselves, so we can be all of those things, with a love that we learned first hand from a Heavenly Father.
