So, I can kind of see where members of the church that are Democrat are coming from when they say that everyone should be free to do what they like and love who they want etc... because God's plan is that we all have agency to live how we like and Satan wanted to force us to do what was right.
Yes, we should have agency and we do have agency, but Republican's trying to pass laws against things like abortion or marijuana, does not force anyone else to do anything.
Just like we can choose to break God's commandments we can choose to break the laws. Agency still exists. God's plan includes commandments and a moral compass leading to happiness. He expects us to obey, but we still get to choose. While something being legal doesn't automatically make it right I believe that we should still be voting for what is right.
Standing up for God's commandments and what is morally right does not take away another's agency, but emphasizes the importance of defending the truth.
