The Truth About Police

The Police are not racist and are definitely not trained to be, they don't make more money than teachers, they don't get lunch breaks and yes, they may be more cynical than you, but that is because they are lied to all day every day.
If/when a Police Officer actually were/is racist he/she would lose his/her job or never even be hired in the first place.  It's happened before.
They are asked that very question as part of their polygraph test as well as random neighbors and references being asked as part of an extensive background check.
Police aren't killing people just because of the color of their skin and whenever there is a police involved shooting there are major investigations about whether it was justified or not. When they aren't justified they have the same consequences as anyone. When they are justified shootings people choosing to believe the media over what the law says does not make the officers wrong.
If you think that cops aren't doing their jobs or get off scott free when there is an officer involved shooting then YOU are WRONG. According to the LAW that we all live under, shootings are JUSTIFIED for these reasons:

76-2-404.  Peace officer's use of deadly force.

(1)A peace officer, or any person acting by the officer's command in providing aid and assistance, is justified in using deadly force when:
(a)the officer is acting in obedience to and in accordance with the judgment of a competent court in executing a penalty of death under Subsection 77-18-5.5(2), (3), or (4);

(b)effecting an arrest or preventing an escape from custody following an arrest, where the officer reasonably believes that deadly force is necessary to prevent the arrest from being defeated by escape; and
(i)the officer has probable cause to believe that the suspect has committed a felony offense involving the infliction or threatened infliction of death or serious bodily injury; or

(ii)the officer has probable cause to believe the suspect poses a threat of death or serious bodily injury to the officer or to others if apprehension is delayed; or

(c)the officer reasonably believes that the use of deadly force is necessary to prevent death or serious bodily injury to the officer or another person.

(2)If feasible, a verbal warning should be given by the officer prior to any use of deadly force under Subsection (1)(b) or (1)(c).

You could be red, black, white, purple or blue. If you choose to break the law then there are consequences and we are all aware of what those could be. An officers JOB is to enforce and uphold the law. Police do not make the laws. The media will say Police killed a teen boy just to pull at your heart strings and get you to hate cops, but they won't tell you what crimes that "teen boy" committed to get him into that situation because that doesn't sell their agenda. If you think cops WANT to kill someone then you are crazy. They DREAD ever having to be in those situations and having to make that choice. You don't think that wouldn't affect them for the rest of their lives? When they have to make that call you better believe that they are wanting it to be the right one.
When Police arrive at a shots fired call and see a "suspect" running away from the scene they aren't going to politely ask that person to "please stop" then do nothing when they don't. That endangers the public they are hired to protect.
If you don't want to worry about being shot then ummm... don't run away from the cops and don't have felony warrants...
The cops can't win though because if they do use deadly force then the country wants them locked up, but if they choose not to and say that violent felon injures an innocent civilian, then that will be the cops fault for not stopping them too.  Someone willing to point a gun at a Police Officer probably has no problem hurting maybe one of YOUR LOVED ONES in their path either.
But it's like being the referee at a sporting event. Everything happens so fast with so many different vantage points and blind spots that some correct calls get missed. They do the best they can with the information they have, but unlike being a ref, they can't just call a time out, watch the tape back and talk about the best thing to do when someone is about to shoot either them or someone else! There are no jump balls or changing the penalty, like it never happened. They are human. They do make mistakes sometimes, but it's not on purpose or because they are racist or love their "authority."
"I would like to point out here that Police Officers make split second decisions every day, make judgment calls as part of their job. Their intention is not to cause harm. Their intention is to avoid harm. If an officer makes the wrong call it no only affects citizens of the city, but also affects the officers themselves in ways that only someone who has walked in their shoes can fully understand.  Cops are held to a higher standard of accountability than the rest of the population, as it should be, but never forget that they are people too. Men and women that are subject to the same doubts and regrets that all of us are. I'm not asking anyone to cut us slack, not at all, but a little recognition for the conditions under which our men and women operate would go a long way."
-Frank Reagan, Blue Bloods

If you feel safe in your neighborhood and in your home tonight it's probably because the Police Officers are doing their job so that you can be protected. Most people have no idea what kinds of crimes are really happening near them because THOUSANDS of calls are handled correctly every day.
If you like complaining about how bad cops are at their jobs then you go be one yourself.
You go do it better. And if you don't have the guts to do that then at least go on a few ride alongs, learn the laws and get your head out of your butt. The cops will still be there to protect it whenever you call 911, but it's not their job to kiss it.
To those who do ask honest questions to understand and are open minded,
THANK YOU!
And thank you President Trump for supporting our police.

Everyone is welcome to have their own opinions based on their personal experiences, I'm just saying there to 2 sides to EVERY story people. ALWAYS 2 sides.

  1. A big AMEN! Those who hate cops tend to associate with those who are involved with criminal activities. If you hate cops because they interfere with yours and your friends' criminal activities, then you are the problem in our society, not the cops. If you think it is ok for a felon, or an armed robber, or a wife beater, or any of the other myriad of criminals who run from cops should be allowed to run away and possibly hurt or kill others without the cops intervening and stopping them, then you are part of the problem in our society. We want safe streets where our kids can play without drug users/sellers, without gangs, and without criminals running around our communities.
