Last Things

One of the last things on Kasen and Tai's summer fun list was to paint outside. I waited till the last second, but eventually I let them do their one painting outside day of the year that I allow and just held my OCD breath! A 2 sided easel with 3 kids is hard, but I talked Kasen and Tai into taking turns letting Kohen paint with them.
I start with such high hopes of having only one paint brush in each color. Like that would ever happen! haha They had lot of fun painting though.

This month we also did a cousin babysitting swap! The Days came to our house after Kohen's birthday party and Bentley made everyone slushies out of Otter Pops and we painted nails and flew kites.
Then the next week Kyley watched our kids while Kyle and I went to see Top Gun together!
And the kids had a blast playing in the water outside on the Blob.

Tai and Charly were so cute, pumping each other up to go run and slide across the blob together.
We got to go bowling with Grammy Tammy to use the Fat Cats card we got her for Christmas. Kohen is not easy to bowl with as he thinks every turn is his turn and kept trying to pick up "heavy" balls to go throw down the lane! He was loving it when it was his turn though. Thank you Grammy!
At Dad's family dinner this month, all of our husbands were working so it was just the Mom's and all these baby boys!
That same day we went to celebrate Baby Dakota's birthday too!
The other thing Kasen and Tai wanted to do this summer was sleep on the tramp. So I checked the weather forecast multiple times and let them go out there. But at 11:45 it started raining. I checked the weather again and WHILE it was still raining the report still said "no precipitation expected". So Tai was out there howling like a Banshee cause she was cold so I had to go out and bring them in. They lasted even less time than last year.
We went with the DeVaney's to see Super Pets one morning, rode bikes to the park (pretending I'm not pleased as punch that school starts this week!),
And I ran my last 5K of the summer!
We did not get to run "through a mix of glowing hot air balloons" at the Balloon Fest 5K in Sandy, BUT there were some on the screens while we ran through Rio Tinto Stadium! And we didn't get rained on- so win! I really liked that it was a night race and didn't start til 9pm. Thank you Stephanie for inviting me to run this with you!
My 20th race. 3.27 miles. 38:28

It's been a fantastic summer!
We went on 2 hikes, I ran 3 races, we've been camping 4x and counting, played at 5 different splash pads, along with swimming lessons, space camp, young women's camp, family reunions, friend reunions, birthday parties, bike rides, snow cones, sprinklers, water balloons, kites, Splash Summit, the air show, Aquarium and a Rodeo!
