Merry Christmas!

Before we celebrated the wonderful Christmas season Kyle and I celebrated our FIRST ANNIVERSARY!  We reached our goal of not getting pregnant this year too :)  We just aren't quite ready for that yet.  Especially since I have like 10 years of school left!  I have loved having the past year to spend together making memories.  Marriage isn't at all as hard as  everyone warned us of, but I'm sure that changes once kids get added to the mix of life.

We spent the night in Salt Lake and ate the top layer of our funfetti wedding cake.  Thanks to Kyle's 20 layers of saran wrap and tin foil it was as yummy as the day we ate it a year ago!

This year we got to go see Savior of the World and it was wonderful!  It's just what we needed to help us understand what Christmas is all about and not just worry about enjoying it.  Each time Jesus was lost for a few days He was always found going about His Father's business.  I am so thankful He was.  We like the wise men need to continue moving towards the Savior with HASTE!

I was so excited to decorate our apartment for Christmas.  I made sure our tree was up the day after Thanksgiving.  The lights on the tree make me so happy!

This year we spent Christmas Eve at my mom's house.  It had been 5 years since the last time we were all at my moms for Christmas and it was so fun playing games, watching Elf and eating dinner together.

Kyle was so excited about all his new snowmobiling gear he got for Christmas and I was super excited about the new zoom lens I got for my Nikon!  Good thing Kyle got all his new gear because for Christmas my mom took all of us on a snowmobiling tour and it was a blast!  We spent the weekend in Park City and did a little snowboarding before our tour.  I never even got stuck, but I did fall off my sled once!

What I learned in 2012:
1. Construction barrels on the freeway can take the side mirror right off your car
2. Do not eat the beef curry in Kailua, Hawaii
3. When you buy a bed it does not come with a frame or a mattress
4. Do not donate blood and go to the temple in the same day
5. Do not try to thaw a 8lb bag of frozen rolls all at once
6. Taking a plane is worth not riding a train to California
7. Do not ever get polyurethane on your hands
8. Do not try to look directly at a solar eclipse through a telescope
9. It costs 130 dollars to replace the 2 panes of glass in our front door
10. It takes a few days for a check to clear the bank, even if you cash it
11. Car alarms do not work when the windows get smashed
12. Some hedgehogs will not eat anything except cat-food
13. I actually can get up on a wake-board
14.  I enjoy snowmobiling when I don't always get stuck in the snow
15. Kyle talks in his sleep and it is weird
16. Sports games will usually go into overtime when I am watching them

Can't wait to learn all the new things that 2013 will teach me!

  2. Love the list of what you have learned... That is a very good idea to do also when you are preparing to set your new resolutions. So what is your New Year's Resolution this year?
