I saw a list like this online and wanted to take from it to make my own version to keep as a reminder. As long as you know your spouse's love language you can do little things every day to keep love alive and strengthen your relationship!
1. Pray together and read scriptures together every day
2. Go to the temple together once a month (We have only missed one month since we've been married :)
3. Go on regular date nights
4. Hide notes in secret places
5. Go to bed at the same time
6. Praise your spouse to other people
7. Go away together at least once a year
8. Compliment each other
9. Take one day a month to make your spouse your total focus
10. Kiss and say, "I love you" every day
11. Forgive quickly
12. Look your best as often as you can, wear something your spouse loves
13. Plan your budget together
14. When you are together- BE TOGETHER (take a break from phones and TV)
15. Dance together- slow dancing or rocking music with the kids
16. Exercise together
17. Choose not to be annoyed by an irritating behavior/disappointment from your spouse
18. Thank your spouse often
19. Learn something new together- take an art class, cooking lessons etc...
20. Support each other's goals
21. Share furniture- sit in his lap
22. Make a point to eat dinner together most days of the week
23. Never let your spouse feel like they come second place to your career or any other thing
24. Talk about your dreams and aspirations. Be supportive of each other and dream big together
25. Speak well of your spouse
For Her:
26. Buy him gifts he will love
27. Hang pictures of the two of you around your house
28. Make his favorite meal and dessert
29. Spend time apart occasionally (school and work counts right?)
30. Learn to enjoy something he loves
31. Surprise each other
32. Meet him at the door
For Him:
33. Leave work on time and come home early
34. Every day engage in meaningful conversation
35. Tell her she is pretty, especially when she doesn't feel like it
36. Do her chores for her
37. Bring her flowers/gifts (even when she says they are too expensive)
38. Never go to bed mad
39. Never yell at each other, unless the house is on fire
40. Argue fair, avoid saying "you never" or "you always"
41. Put their happiness above your own
42. Cleave unto each other and nobody else, including your parents
It takes time and effort to stay in love, and I am so glad I have my best friend to share the journey with.
