5 Months and Grateful

Last month I broke a new record, I ran 2 miles straight- without stopping! 24 minutes.
I have never been close to ever doing that before! So I am about 2/3 of the way to doing a 5k now!
It's not that I care to look skinny, I just want to feel healthy and be able to run and hike and chase kids and go on adventures :)
A 5k is something I put on a bucket list I made back in high school and I'm not getting any younger!
3 months ago I couldn't even run 2 minutes without stopping.
What is the secret?
I exercise on my treadmill every MWF for at least 20 minutes no matter what and sometimes I go on walks on the days in between.  I just try to run a little longer each time.
For a little over a month I didn't eat any sweets, treats or desserts, but I am back to eating hot brownies with ice cream, chocolate pudding pies and cookie dough sometimes :)
So I don't know how I am still losing so much weight…
We just don't keep any junk food at our house, I eat out maybe once a month and I don't drink any carbonated drinks.
When I am craving something sweet I do drink some milk with a scoop of chocolate Nesquick (ya know, the bunny milk), it's my weakness!
For my birthday, Melanie got me a jogger to run outside with Kasen too!  It's lots harder than running on the treadmill, but I'm working on it!

A couple weeks ago I put a baby shower together for Kristi and baby Naomi.  This game is called baby face mash up and it was hilarious! Jake and Kristi's children will be super attractive as you can tell by the way their faces blend together!

We've already busted out the hot chocolate! It was our FHE treat last week :)
and some fun facts about it:
Those candy canes are ones we still have from doing hot chocolate at our wedding reception. 4 years ago.
Melanie mailed the mugs to me while I was in the MTC during Christmas (6 years ago) so we could have hot chocolate in our rooms :) She told me to just throw them away, but I sent them home and still have them!  They make me happy.

Also, Krista got her mission call to Houston, TEXAS!! She leaves February 17th and we are so excited for her!

Bad news- Our vacuum burned out! Pretty sure that Shark vacuums should last much longer than 4 years!  I would say that I know what I am getting for Christmas, but there is no way we are waiting that long! At the rate my hair is falling out, Kasen would be sucked into a ginormous hairball by then!

Just don't' spin the one with the beads in it! It's too scary!
 Rice cereal- Yum yum!
Kyle is so great at changing dirty diapers, but feeding Kasen rice cereal grosses him out! Haha

He is kind of starting to be able to sit up.  If he leans forward on his hands!

He ate baby food for the first time today! I don't think he loved it. yet.

  1. Haha these are the best!!!!! I love love them! Also, that cracks me up about that toy being scary. I also remember Hazel acting like that when she was his age. Oh and she would sit and stare at the crab as it would barely move. She loved that thing!!!!!! I am so so proud of you and the 5k thing!! That has been my goal since high school too. I just decided. I think I am just going to call you haha because this is a really long post. :)

  2. I love seeing these updates. Makes up a little for not being able to see Kasen in person more often.
