Kasen is 8 Months old today and it's also the day that Krista entered the MTC, on her way to serve in the Texas Houston East Mission!
We spent Valentines Day at her farewell and she gave a fantastic talk!
She spoke about how we can grow closer to Christ and why she decided to serve a mission. She talked about a faith walk at young women's camp that represented the iron rod in Lehi's dream and how we should never let go. We need to stay on the path leading back to our Heavenly Father.
(There is an awesome talk about this in the Ensign this month too!)
We grow closer to Christ by trying to live like Him, praying, going to church, reading our scriptures and through our trials.
She had everyone crying laughing when she was trying not to cry and made a noise that she then said sounded like a whale! Haha
She will be an awesome missionary and I'm so excited to be able to read an e-mail from a missionary every week again! Last month was the first one since I've been home from my mission that I haven't had a missionary e-mail to read.
That whole day, the only thing Kasen wanted was his plastic spoon. He is just so funny sometimes, like how he wants to touch everyone's faces when they hold him. He's like a blind child trying to find out who you are. Lol
Before she left most of Kyle's family all went tubing together at Soldier Hollow! We had so much fun being a molecule on the mountain! And since Kyley is growing a baby and couldn't tube, she hung out with baby Taysen and Tenny in the lodge.
We made it up north in time to go to the Provo temple together Friday morning too!

Yesterday I got Valentine's roses from Kyle. He knows me too well because he waited till after Valentines to have them delivered to save some money!
Kasen will finally pick up his puffs to eat them instead of eating them out of my hand like puppy treats.
And tonight Kyle gave him a bath for the first time, he is so awesome :)

He has been using his elephant to walk all over! He is getting so close to walking on his own.
He has also figured out how to open the door and yell for me in the mornings, since he can reach the doorknob from his crib.
I can usually hear him just playing and talking to himself for a while first!
This week Kyle told me that having a baby is better than he thought it would be. He thought they just cried ALL the time, but Kasen is usually happy.
Usually...
I guess chewing on wood is better than when he pulls all of our cords out of the wall to chew on the plugs. Or the garbage. Or our shoes.
He likes sucking on bananas and he LOVES when Kyle lets him suck on oranges too. I can't get him to drink juice though! He needs to drink it with his iron supplement to help it absorb!
For the Super Bowl, we went with some other officers to watch it at Cedar High. I was volunteered to make bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers, guacamole and chicken wings and ate lots of other yummy food! Good times.
Now for basketball season…
Other than that I'm getting excited for summer!
We booked a cruise to Mexico with 3 other officers and their wives, I registered to run the Pink Series 5k and all of our Tuacahn shows are scheduled! It's going to be a ball!
Oh and my 10 year high school reunion is this year, how crazy is that?! We are getting old!

When are you going on your cruise? Which one is it? The Riviera one is nice, but there is a shorter 4 day one that is not so nice. There are also ones on the Gulf side that I don't know anything about. So exciting! I laughed at the picture of Kasen stuck under the chair.

DeleteP.S. Try using a sippy cup for the juice... sometimes they just associate the bottle with their milk but will take other liquids in a sippy cup if they are able to use one.
