To My Baby Girl

Tai Lynn was blessed today and it was perfect!
I love my little family so much.
When I only had Kasen I remember thinking that I was so busy chasing one baby that having two would be impossible, but God somehow makes us enough for what he’s called us to do, if we trust in Him and God has called us to have families, they are essential to His plan of happiness.
I’m thankful that the priesthood has been restored so that we are able to make and keep covenants that can help us become like God.  The point of this life isn’t just to get baptized or make it to the temple or even to the Celestial kingdom.  The goal is to become like God.  We have to endure to the end by keeping our covenants.  That is what makes eternal families possible.
I’m so thankful for my family, especially for a husband that honors His priesthood.  Everyday he tells me he loves me, but multiple times a day he tells me how much he loves Kasen and Tai.  The way he loves being a father has been a wonderful surprise for me and I love him so much.
I know Jesus Christ lives.  This is His church.  God loves us and wants us to have joy and because of His perfect plan we can.

 3 generations of Lynn.
Thank you mom for making her beautiful blessing dress (from her wedding dress too!)
AND finishing her quilt :)
and 4 generations from both sides of my family!
Both of our entire families were able to be there with us. (except Krista, still on her mission)
Grandpas Kelly and Jeff and Uncles Jake, Ben, Josh, Dakota, Jordan, Hayden and Jon were all in the circle to bless Tai.
Thank you everyone for coming and eating french toast with us too!
Even though poor Kasen wasn't feeling well...

To my baby girl, Tai Lynn;                                                                                   March 5, 2017

This morning you were blessed and today I want you to know how loved you are and that I have a testimony of God’s plan for you as His daughter.

Because the fullness of Christ’s gospel has been restored, your daddy was able to use God’s priesthood power to give you a name and a beautiful blessing:
“As you start your mortal life you have been placed in a family that loves you and is grateful for you.  They will be there for you through your childhood and life experiences.  Through your trials you will feel their love and support for you.  You also have Heavenly Father who loves you.  Reach out to Him and learn to follow the promptings of the Spirit.  Build a relationship with Him and become the daughter and woman He knows you can be, as you pursue the desires you have.  When the time comes for you to marry, I bless you to meet a worthy priesthood holder that will take you to the temple so that your family will be sealed.  Always remember to reach out to Heavenly Father and your Savior, Jesus Christ.  We love you.”

I want you to know that living the principles of the gospel and following Christ’s teachings are the only ways that you will find true and lasting happiness in your life.  I want nothing more than for you to be truly happy, forever.  Until you know that you are loved and that you are a Child of God, nothing else matters.

I love you so much.  Your dad loves you.  And I am so grateful that he also loved me enough to be worthy to take me to be sealed in the temple so that our family might be eternal.  Families are central to God’s plan for all of His children.  We are a family so that we can lift and strengthen one another in unique ways and prepare together to return to God’s presence and become like Him.  The only way families can be eternal though is if we make and then keep our covenants.

God wants us to have joy and know the truth.  Your responsibility is to find out the truth for yourself.  You can’t rely on anyone else’s testimony of Jesus Christ because when doubts and trials arise, only you will be able to answer the hard questions for yourself.  I know that God hears every prayer we pray and as you read the Book of Mormon and pray with a real desire to know the truth, He will bless you with the knowledge you need.  God keeps His promises.

As you choose to keep God’s commandments you will be blessed in all aspects of your life.  That does not mean that life will never be hard, but that when it is hard you will still be able to feel God’s love for you, have peace in your life and know that everything will work out.  Believe that he has a perfect plan for you and trust that it will be revealed in His time and His way.  Believe that he hears and will answer your prayers, even if the answer may be “no” sometimes. Everything that is unfair about this life will one day be made right through Christ’s Atonement.

Be true to what you know is right.  You will make mistakes.  I will continue to make mistakes, but please believe Christ when he says he will forgive us every time we repent.  Nobody can fall farther than the light of Christ’s Atonement shines, as long as we are willing to change.  Believe that He loves you and wants you to succeed and be happy, eternally.  We are doing what we are supposed to as long as we learn from our experiences and continue to move forward.

Be kind, especially to those whose sins and circumstances are different from yours.  You’ll never know what another person’s life struggles are, but as God’s children we should always share His love with everyone around us.  Nobody is better than anybody else.  Let your example shine to help others along their way.
Have courage to stand up for the right.  Set your goals and standards high and then never give up on achieving them.  You have a wonderful journey ahead of you with the opportunity to be whomever you choose to be.  I know you will be someone amazing, someone everyone will be blessed to know.  I’m so thankful that you are in my life.

Cherish virtue and integrity.  You are a daughter of God. When the time comes to be married, be prepared to marry the man who loves you enough to take you to the House of the Lord to be sealed for time and all eternity.  Marry a worthy priesthood holder that will love and cherish you with all the love that you deserve as a daughter of Heavenly Father.  True love includes God and will carry you closer to Christ.  True love should last forever.

I will always love you, no matter what.  Even when I don’t agree with you or you insist on learning some things the hard way.  I will always love you and be here to help you succeed in life.  I hope I can be the kind of mother that Heavenly Father has entrusted me to be.  Remember that nothing comes easy that is worth it in the end, but if we endure well then we will be blessed with endless happiness. Eternal life is possible because God’s plan is perfect.  Jesus Christ is our Savior and I know that He lives.

With all my love,
Mom

My baby girl wore her first white dress today.  I hope one day she knows how special it was.
These are my 3 white dresses and one of my favorite songs to go with them :)

What Heaven Sees in You
 by Mindy Gledhill

Sent to this earth
You were saved through the ages for this day and time
Child of great worth Child of promise, daughter of the Divine
Pure and holy in a little, white dress
You were held in a circle and you were blessed
And the Father looked down
And the angels surrounded that place
They knew the truth, all that you could do
And you will, too, if you have eyes to see
What heaven sees in you
Dressed in white once more
Making promises to follow in God’s way
So much lies in store
For the little girl who enters at the gate
Pure and holy in a little, white dress
You were led into the water and you were
blessed
*Repeat Chorus*
Do you understand who you are
Part of the Father lives in you
If you continue on this path
Every promise God has given will come true
Heaven on earth
In the house of God, so much fills your heart
and mind
Woman of great worth
Woman of promise, daughter of the Divine
Pure and holy in a long, white dress
You promise forever and you are blessed
And the Father looks down
And the angels surround that place
They know the truth, all that you can do
And you do, too, ‘cause you have eyes to see
What heaven sees in you
Will you have eyes to see
What heaven sees in you
