So I just recently learned what Diastasis Recti is. AND that I have it!
BAD!
Guys, how did I not know about this?! Feeling my stomach pretty much split in half is like the grossest thing I've ever felt on my own body.
And do you know what Kyle asked after I showed him- "Can you even do a sit up?"
Yes! Of course I can do a sit up. I don't know how it's possible or how my guts aren't falling out of my body, but luckily that hasn't happened yet!
Should I even try to fix myself or wait until I'm done having kids and assess the full extent of the damage then?
Mom Bod guys, it's legit. I used to think it was just stretch marks and wasn't even worried, but it's like the whole thing goin on. All this.

Headbands are a necessary accessory for mom hair. I don't wear them because they are fashionable. I wear them because I look like Albert Einstein if I don't.
So give me all the headbands!
So give me all the headbands!
Good news though:
Today I ran 3.107 miles in 29:50 minutes!
I've shaved off a good 6 minutes since the first race I ran in 2016.
So I'm not completely falling apart yet.
Good thing that the children are so worth all the side effects! Mostly.

I had never heard of Diastasis Recti until I googled it from reading your post. I assume that is why I had such a pooch that I ended up getting a tummy tuck. I could never get rid of the pooch even after all my working out, so I decided I would take care of it surgically after I was done having kids, but my doctor never used those words when we discussed the surgical fix.
