PUPPIES

We have new puppies at our house!
Meet Mushu, Bubble Puppy, Boo and Golden Girl born Thursday, May 2nd (58 day gestation), ready for new homes on June 27th.
I didn't think Peeka would be whelping for a few more days so I went to a graduation in Logan and when I got home I found 4 puppies in Peeka's doghouse outside. I am SO bummed that I missed it! One of the parts I was most super excited about was witnessing that, maybe doing a cool time lapse video. Ugh, cannot believe I missed it and poor Peeka had to do it all by herself outside.
She was a champ though! Everything out there was all clean and dry when I got home.

So I got the puppies inside and a couple hours later a 5th one was born! Good news, I was there to see it, bad news it was still born. I even tried the 101 Dalmatians trick of rubbing it in a towel. While that was happening Kyle found a 6th puppy outside under the deck. So freakin sad!
But we still have 4 adorable little Goldadors.
The sire, Pongo, is an AKC registered, English Creme Golden Retriever.
He is 3 years old and 85 lbs.
His genetic testing and OFA testing on his hips and elbows have also been completed.
The dam, Peeka, is an AKC registered, Yellow Labrador Retriever.
She is 2.5 years old, 59 lbs, and this is her first litter of puppies!

So if you know anyone looking for an addition to their family send them our way!
Right now we are selling them for $600.

Also, people have asked why I decided to breed Peeka if we seem to dislike her so much...
Well, mostly it was to fill my curiosity of how much fun it would be to have puppies! (Like the curiosity I had about natural childbirth...) Meeko is spayed so kittens are out. Since I haven't been able to have another one of my own babies yet, I get to take care of Peeka babies!
AND we had free access to a stud so we figured it was a great opportunity to have some ADORABLE Golden Labrador (Goldador) puppies! #thanksmom
But also to help calm down Peeka's personality.
#fingerscrossed #rumorhasit
And maybe to make back some of the money spent on all of the things she has destroyed in our house. Truth is that we hate her sarcastically, a common misconception, and usually make comments to each other in private about how she is a good dog.
Happy Mothers Day Peeka!
