FIVE

My FIVE year old got FIVE staples in his head for FIVE days!

The night before Tai's birthday I was getting ready to host book club when I heard Kyle yell from the basement, "Gosh dang it!" He came running upstairs carrying a crying Kasen with blood running all the way down his arm. Kasen had jumped off a chair and hit his head right on the corner of the wall. Neither Kyle or I have ever had stitches before so we were sure when you may need them or when you can just super glue a cut shut, but we ended up taking Kasen to the instacare where they stapled his head.

And a rough job they did of it too! They were sticking so far out from his head that I was worried they would snag on something. The doctor put two other staples in that he had to pull back out, but the 5 he did after that still looked pretty bent and mangled. Like Kasen decided to staple his own head! The morning we went to get them taken out one actually fell out... Oh well. The doctor at the pediatrician's office got a good laugh at what they looked like. Just glad we didn't have to go to the ER. Again.

It was a matching book end to the morning I had that day though. 20 minutes before my turn for carpool the cat peed in Kohen's carseat! She is the worst. Luckily Becca was able to come take Kasen to school and Sydney was able to come take Tai to preschool since I didn't have a way to put Kohen in the car. If I wasn't one of the people that believes in keeping pets for their whole life then I would love to give Kiwi away right about now. She did catch a mouse that one time, but I don't know if it's worth her clawing my dresses in my closet, the curtains, the carpet, peeing in infant carseats and crapping all over Tai's dress ups box. More and more I've come to the realization that I am not the pet person I once was. Now I'm much more of a keep the things we've worked for nice and also clean. I like the idea of my kids having pets, but I don't actually even enjoy petting them.

So Tai turned 4 on Thursday! We read her birthday book and ate birthday cake waffles for breakfast! Then after school we went with some friends to Coconut Cove again this year.
Happy Happy Birthday Tai Lynn. I love you a million!
