St. George and September

Grandma Peterson passed away and the whole family was unexpectedly able to be there at the funeral together.

The funeral was Friday and then Grandma paid for everyone to stay at a hotel that night to attend the graveside in St. George on Saturday. We had fun swimming with cousins while we were there!
We hung out in Mom and Dad's room and talked about some funny memories with Grandma. Like one time at the farm when they served wet spaghetti noodles on foam plates and expected the kids to carry their plates outside to eat and almost everyone's dinner slid off their plates!
During the funeral Grandma's quote, "you can only do what you can do" was shared and how she was the QUEEN of "Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without"
I shared some of my pictures I took of her for part of my BFA project to remember her and her talents of sewing, painting, quilting and publishing family history books.
I remember my parents taking our family to the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival when I was a kid and it being so fun! There were funny stories and a magician and my brothers tried fencing and I tried using a pottery wheel and made a bunch of pots. So I got tickets to the Thursday night session of the festival, to see how the kids would like it. Kyle was not a fan! lol But I think the kids liked some of the stories.
For years Mom Annette has been asking us to go to TOFW with her. This year we finally went in for tickets for Mother's Day and then it ended up being 2 days before her mom passed away. So she stayed with her mom and wasn't able to come. Emma used her ticket Friday night, but nobody was able to come use it Saturday. I loved hearing Callee Reed sing and speak though!
We got free suckers and both loved hearing Dave Butler speak.
I hosted bookclub this month and made some bomb pumpkin and cream cheese muffins.
We went to parent teacher conferences for Kasen and Tai and Kasen's teacher had only great things to say about him and how self aware he is for a seven year old. He recognizes when he needs to scoot his chair away from the table so he doesn't talk to friends too much, but is also talking so much cause he just knows answers and picks up on things so fast. He's even made his own book to add to his classroom library.
Tai's teacher told us she is a good friend and so sweet. They are both testing above the goals they need to be reaching and Tai loves working on her homework folder. We're so proud of them so we stopped for donuts. Now when I pull into Macey's parking lot, Kohen yells "donut!"
One morning Tai made up a song she sang all the way until school started.
"I just can't wait to have a very fun school day! I'm gonna go and play and shout hooray!
I'm getting ready for a fun school day and no one can ever come stop me!"
I especially love this picture she colored of her wearing he purple rainbow dress and how she draws her blonde hair so curly now.
They also had their primary program on Sunday and rocked it like the rockstars they are. Kasen had both his and Tai's parts memorized, but then forgot at the microphone and needed help. So proud of them.
