I live for discount days! It's the only way my kids ever get to go to these expensive places. Even if they're more crowded. This year there were only 2 Tuesdays and they were $5 instead of $3, but that we can still do! We even made it to the last week of Dinosaur Island inside of the Ashton Gardens at Thanksgiving Point. They had 15 animatronic dinosaurs to find and Tai was all about it! She was marching us so fast to each next dinosaur and counting them as we went.
The next week we went to the Children's Curiosity Museum and stayed for hours!
The next day I got to go spend the day with my grandparents at their house in Aurora. I've been wanting to go help my grandma with canning their garden food for a long time and I'm so glad that I finally went!
She taught me how to bottle pickled beets.
After Grandpa dug up the beets and cut the tops off, Grandma and I scrubbed them, boiled them, peeled them and bottled them! Grandpa was the pot watcher for the pressure cooker outside.
The amount of food they grow, can and then give away is incredible. They sent me home with all sorts of yummy things. Including the carrots Grandpa dug up for me right before I left. He cut the tops off for me and let me know that that baby one can be for baby Kohen.
He turns 92 on the 10th. Happy Birthday Grandpa!
That night Kyle took the kids on a date to watch the Real Salt Lake soccer game. They had free tickets from playing soccer last season!
