Fall Break 2025
We mostly stayed home this year, but still packed in so much fun!
We went to the Scarecrow Festival at Ashton Gardens for the first time and got to vote for our favorite scarecrows that people made. Kohen loved the Chicken Jockey one, Kasen voted for the Taking a Break one, laying down watching Kpop Demon Hunters on their phone, and Tai liked this Monster Bash one.
Kyle and I got to go on a Temple and sushi date! I was thinking about something I heard on the Follow Him podcast, that Kyle and I listen to. That all we can take with us when we die are our character, intelligence, relationships and testimonies. So what matters more than anything in this life is to strive to become like Him, learn new things, love and connect with people and choosing to believe.
"There can be no happiness if the things we believe in are different from the things we do."
I'm so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ that helps us focus on those things of eternal importance, that will bring lasting joy.
We went on a perfect fall hike to Prayer Flag Hill, here in Eagle Mountain. It was only half a mile up so Kolt walked the whole way and I never had to carry him!
I don't know how long those prayer flags have been there, but the views were beautiful up there and we really enjoyed hanging out for a little while.
Kasen didn't get to come because he got to go deer hunting with Kyle and Grandpa Kelly.
Later we went to the library and had a movie night to watch Hocus Pocus II. Tai has had a loose tooth for awhile and while she was wiggling it, I "accidentally" bumped her hand and it popped right out! She wasn't happy with me, but the other tooth was already growing in under it so it was READY.
Saturday we got to go to Grandpa Jeff's work party at the Tyson factory here in Eagle Mountain. The kids got to play in bounce houses, get their faces painted, have balloons made, lunch and a tour inside where Grandpa works.

From there we went straight to Kidstopia, to use a few more of our punch passes. Tai is so good to take Kolt to go play and he loves her so much. We came home and had another movie night. Tai wanted to sleep in my bed since Kyle was gone so I also told her that if she finished reading her library book that was due back then she could. That got her to finish it! So she slept in my bed and complained about how hot it was the whole time. Kyle's kid. But I was not about to turn on the fan for her!
After church on Sunday, we went to meet the boys where they were camping for the deer hunt, near Fairview. Kasen taught me how to play Backgammon and we had dinner together before we went back home and brought Kasen with us. The next morning Hayden and Kallie got a deer so Kasen missed all that fun. Kyle said he mostly wanted to stay in the truck anyway, but Kallie did find him an antler shed he was excited to bring home!
Yesterday was the last day of Fall Break and we went to play at the Jurassic Jungle with the DeVaneys in the morning and then to Sweet Berry Farms Pumpkin Patch later in the afternoon. There were so many people from the ward there, but it started getting cold, fast, so we went home and had hot chocolate!
Happy Fall Break!
