Baking and Boos

We've been spending some time in the kitchen! Kasen wanted to try another recipe from his Harry Potter cookbook and picked Honeydukes Haul Cake (doughnut cake). He filled them with raspberry jelly and they turned out pretty good!
I also tried a new sourdough with pesto and mozzarella cheese. I'm not good at incorporating the inclusions evenly, but it was still delicious!
Tai had a friend over and asked if they could make cookies so I handed her a recipe and let her go for it! When they thought they were ready to bake I double checked their dough and we went over how much of each ingredient they put in- not nearly enough flour, but we fixed that! They also used the Tablespoon instead of the teaspoon for everything, but they were still edible. I told her the first time I made cookies by myself I used like 1 cup of baking soda and we had to throw the whole batch away so she did great!
She's since checked out 3 different cook books from her school library and has a list of things she wants to make.
Love her.

Kyle wanted to freeze dry some peaches so Grammy brought us 2 boxes of Brigham City Peach Days peaches. Which was too many peaches!
We were eating peaches for weeks. Lots of peaches and cream, freeze dried peaches
and when we had Ben and Jordan over for dinner one night and I made peach pie. I had to show Kyle how to slice peaches like a normal person. He slices them in circles so that they look like freeze dried buttholes! Hahaha
For BOOs this year, I made Pumpkin Cheesecake Cookies. So yummy! But Tai was sick that night so it was just Robot 97 and Spiderman 99 delivering cookies for us. Shhh...
I even decorated for Halloween before our birthdays this year! Per Kohen's request. We are ready for October!
