Month 7

We have a 7 month old now folks! Growing like a little weed.
The cutest little weed that I ever did see.

We've been trying harder to pull her thumb out of her mouth to get her to stop sucking on it.  Usually it makes her cry, but sometimes she thinks it's a game and laughs about it.
I'm so happy that she still has her blue eyes because all of her hair that she used to have is GONE!

On June 30th Tai started to pull herself up to stand! She is getting SO big!
Kasen doesn't understand that he can' take the walker while she is using it to stand up though.
Poor Tai.
If there is food on the floor she WILL find it. Her favorite spot is right under Kasen's high chair, where she eats cookies, crackers, granola bars, spaghetti noodles and green peppers.
She will also follow Peeka wherever she goes to steal her chew sticks.
When she is excited or nervous she puts her head down and folds in half, it's also how she sleeps sometimes too!

She is always wiggling and moving, very rarely she will just sit with me.
We've been shopping for a new car seat for her, but we will miss having her baby carrier to sleep in! She does not fall asleep in our arms.

We went on a nice Sunday walk and I got to show Kasen the bumble bees.  I explored lots of new trails near our house too.  He loves looking real close at the potato bugs outside on our back porch and when they get flipped over and wiggle their legs he comes running to me yelling, "legs, legs, legs!"

Kasen LOVES the T-ball sets that he got for his birthday! I showed him how to set up the bases one time and ever since then he does it all by himself!  It is seriously the cutest.
I'm still trying to figure out his left handedness.  He seems to hit the ball on the right side of the plate,
But wants his glove on his right hand...
He definitely is left handed when he draws though.
The fight to keep Peeka continues.
I'm not ready to give up on her.  I still would rather take her to obedience training.
I told Kyle if he sells her than we will NEVER again EVER get a dog.
I knew what we were getting into when we got a dog (besides the amount of hole digging and toy destroying).  They poop, they need babysitters when we go on vacation, their food costs money, they need attention, time and training to behave well, they shed and sometimes they get out and the neighbors have to bring them back.
If he didn't think about those things when he brought her home in January (after I said we should have a fence first) well then he should have.  He said he would train her though.
I've learned that Kyle and I deal with relationships very differently and it's something we will continuing learning how to compromise on. :) I just don't agree on completely giving up when it's not fun anymore.
But really, how can you see this and want to get rid of her?
At least keep her for the kids, even when we despise her.

This week we got to go to the Splash Pad again and Hazel and Hyde came too!

That night Kyle was asked to stay late at work and got to be security for Senator Orrin Hatch.
I was invited to a girls game night with some sisters in the ward though so Stephanie got to come have a sleepover and I let her watch Kasen while I went across the street.

The next morning she had a water fight with him and he loved it! He would run away screaming saying "Don't!" but then after she let him pour water on her too he was ready for more.
She taught him how to wink and it is so funny so watch him almost have both eyes closed, but one is still just barely open!
"Helmet"
She even played Just Dance with me and Kasen liked dancing a little bit with us too.
  • This week when we tell him No, he's started to say, "Oohhh" in a sad voice and it is my favorite!
  • He's started sleeping in between his sheets now instead of kicking them all off to just use his baby blanket.  He still will not wear any clothes to sleep, but I love putting him to bed! He plays with Kyle after we pray by sticking his butt up in the air so Kyle will push him over and he laughs so hard! Then when it's my turn to tell him good night he says, "cheek" and will give me a kiss on each cheek.
Later we went to meet cousin #8, Reagan Melanie! 3rd cousin born this summer and 2nd one born this week! So fun!

Then we headed up to the drive-in movie! It's our new July 8th tradition because we were there on this same date one year ago.
We watched Despicable Me 3 and then Cars 3.  Got home around 2am and I am surprised that Kasen stayed awake as long as he did! Made it into the second movie.
#doublefeature
4 years ago we were there watching Despicable Me 2 and it rained on us then too!
This time, luckily it only rained mostly between the time we were eating our pizza and the movie starting though.
We found a little piece of pizza in Tai's car seat, Kasen had tried to share a bite with her.
Kennedy was so cute with Kasen! While we were setting up chairs she had her arm out in front of him to make sure he didn't run into the road and then while they laid in the back of the car watching the movie together she held his popcorn for him!
We even all came together the summer before our missions and while we were waiting in line Kyle had to go to the bathroom and ran clear down to Smiths on the corner to find one!
#julytradition
I love the drive in! It will be one of my favorite reasons to have a truck too! Camping out in the back of the truck watching a movie outside at the drive in.

Yesterday I got to meet cousin #7, Presley Anne! She is so tiny and cute! I'm so excited for all the cousins my kids get to grow up with because I LOVED spending time with my cousins!

Today we go to hang out with Ashley and Steven and tried the Baked Bear for the first time.
Ice cream cookie sandwiches are delicious!!
Summer just keeps being awesome :)
