Puppets and Playtime

A couple weeks ago I bought some brown paper bags with the idea to make puppets one day and today was the day! "Luckily" I had to take a variety of art classes in college and also used to scrapbook a lot so I already have a drawer full of paper and other craft supplies. Art classes might not have prepared me for my career at all, but at least it's coming in handy as a stay-at-home mom!

I had fun making puppets for Kasen. I would say with, but my OCD kicks in and after I let him glue on the eyeballs I hurry and make them myself so that he can just color on them.
P.S. He has been naked most of the day cause we are still potty training like that, but he did take a nap so that is happy! Yay! As long as he is naked he hops on the toilet all by himself whenever he needs to, perfect! Just don't put him in a diaper or underwear or he won't say/do a thing.
He was so funny cause after I showed him how to talk with the puppets on my hands, then tried to put them on his hand, he said no. He wanted me to do it so that he could talk to them.
"Hi, I'm Kasen!"
Then when I ducked beneath the table with my arms up to do a little show for him he kept looking under the table to tell me he can see me!
Finally he put two puppets on his hands and it was SO AWESOME!
"The lion says Roar! and the elephant says (insert Kasen's closed mouth elephant scream noise)."
Then with the bunny, "I have a carrot. Mmmmm. Thank you. Bye!"
I think my favorite is the owl.
Here Kasen is telling me we need to wash his hands. He's only ever colored with the Crayola Color Wonder markers that only work on their special paper so when he was getting so dirty it was freaking him out! lol He knows how to put the lids on the ends of the markers while he's using them, without me ever showing him that and that freaks me out. How does he know?!

Don't worry though, we have still watched multiple hours of Super Wings today too.

Last night we made cookies together, (after having a super fun play date at our house with Hazel, Hyde and Scarlett) and the night before that we built his train tracks to go all the way around the wall under the stairs and the day before that we got to go play with Lucy! Also, we're on Chapter 7 of first Nephi, listening to scriptures while we eat breakfast. Makes me feel a little better about my parenting after Kasen has said, "Oh my hell" multiple times today... Still not sure where exactly he learned that since both Kyle and I have never said that before.
He's also been doing This Little Piggy with his toes, except two of his toes are Happy and Angry.

Tai has been carrying her elephant pillow around by the tail all day, holding it with the hand that has the thumb in her mouth, and riding backwards on her Frozen car. Her 7th little tooth just came through so I don't even try to take her thumb out of her mouth when she's that sad.
I just love them!

Also, yesterday while smoking meatloaf, Kyle learned that 2 Tbsp. of salt is significantly different from 2 tsp. of salt! His pulled pork and stuffed peppers are delicious though!
