Mother's Day and More

 Happy Mother's Day yesterday!
We had a full weekend of celebrating all of our wonderful mothers. Friday we had a family dinner with Mom Annette, Saturday we had a family lunch with Mom Tammy and yesterday we had a family dinner with Melanie.
We love you moms!
And Kasen and Tai both LOVE spinning on the chair at my mom and dads house! They beg to spin and spin with the biggest grins on their faces.
And I love being a mom to my kids as well.
It is crazy to me that there are women in the world who choose not to have any children. They are missing out on so much joy. Children motivate you to be the best you and even when they are flipping annoying, it is crazy how they also bring me the most joy I have ever felt in my life, in the exact same moment!
Kyle and I ended up getting each other new running shoes for Mother's/Father's Day this year, because look at my old ones! It was time... I think someone gave them to me in high school cause they didn't fit whoever it was.
So thank you for the new Nike shoes Kyle! They are AMAZING!
After lunch on Saturday we had our ward carnival that we went to. The kids had so much fun!
It took some convincing to get Kasen to go into the bounce house, but once he did he LOVED it.
His indecision can be infuriating at times though. He refused to have his face painted, then begged to have it painted over an hour later! I was impressed with how well he sat to let it get painted and he even cried when I washed off his minion for bed.
It was also the very first time he's used a toilet outside of our house! Usually when we are out somewhere he will tell me he wants to go home and I know that means that he really just needs to use the bathroom, but won't go if we aren't home. I'm so excited that he's finally starting to try now though!

Ice cream cones are their new thing :)
Heidi, Megan, Whitney, Carrie, Ashley, Me, Chelsea
This week I got together with some more friends from High school! Whitney and Chelsea were in my mom's ward with me too, but I hadn't seen them for years! It was so great to see them again and visit for a little bit.
This week we also bought a pass to Thanksgiving Point and went to play for a couple hours at the Curiosity Museum. We are going to have lots of fun there this summer!
We also walked to the Library one day and I had this vision of Kasen and Tai being so excited to pick out books and let me read to them for a while, but no such thing happened. Tai just wanted to climb on the tables and Kasen wanted to play on their computer. I'm taking Kasen to a mommy and me class there now though so I hope he likes it! Last week he was too shy and not assertive enough to play the game, then changed his mind when it wasn't his turn anymore. Like I said, his INDECISION is killer. The psychological games I have to play...
KASEN
Loves doing tricks with his lunch then I have to BEG him to eat food.
I have to dress him multiple times a day, because he takes all his clothes off the second we're home.
Then I have to BEG him to get dressed again to go anywhere.
When he wakes up in the mornings he comes into our room, but always goes to Kyle's side of the bed to snuggle with him for a while. I love that he doesn't run in saying, "I woke up!" anymore too. Just sneaks in and hops in bed by dad.
Instead of ever saying "I don't know" Kasen says, "I don't think so." And it's so cute! Even though it make no sense most of the time.

TAI
is a nut. She has started putting food in her nose and last week we sucked FIVE macaroni noodles out of one nose hole. I have no idea how all those fit up there, but 2 days later a 6th one emerged!
The ways she sleeps are the best. Either with a blanket over her head or sucking her little calloused thumb.
She is a major mommy's girls right now and only lets me hold her. Drives me bonkers.
But I love 'em!

  1. Back when I used to run I read an article about how important good running shoes are and it gave recommendations on how many miles one pair of shoes are good for before they have broken down on the insides too much to provide good shock absorption. Keep track of how many miles you are putting on your new shoes so you know when it's time to replace them. You don't want bad knees and shin splints.
