Saturday I got to run in the Tulip Festival 5K at Thanksgiving Point with these girls!
Bright and early at 7:30 in the morning!
With 1500 other runners. It was insane! After the starting gun went off it took us 3 minutes just to walk up to the starting line.
I've been extra worried about it all week because we recently realized how incorrect our treadmill has been, for a long time, so we got a new treadmill a week ago and I have been dying now that I'm actually running the correct distance! At a speed much slower than I thought I had been running!
Kyle and I got super discouraged when we realized that instead of making amazing progress, we are actually super bad. So when I was so excited that I ran a 5K in 26:38 that was a big fat LIE. I can do no such thing! We are starting back at square one.
There were a couple good hills and lots of people to block the trail, but I finished in 36 minutes. Running through Ashton Gardens for most of the race was beautiful!
I love my running buddies!
Our SWAG bags from the race had passes to the Tulip Festival so today we went with Ashley and Cozette to walk around the gardens with the kids. There was a lot more to see than I remember!
There were paper butterflies all over this pavilion and Kasen was driving Hazel crazy by saying that they were bats!
Their favorite was putting their hands in the fountain in the secret garden though. At one of the gardens there was a structure Kasen was playing at saying, "I'm a bakery, here's your cupcake!" It's thee best when they play pretend!
Tai was trying for all she was worth to get up on the edge of the fountain!
I liked seeing the Light of the World statues and paper cranes on our way out as well.
Like I said, so many neat things to see!
Later I went to a girls night at Ashley's to get a make over and try out Maskcara make up.
It was super fun to leave the kids at home, hang out with some old friends and eat some amazing chocolate chip cookies too!

They got to feed the big fish, but Kasen kept saying that he wanted to catch a fish. Tai was more interested in her snacks, relaxing with her feet up.
