This year we were lucky enough to have THREE thanksgiving dinners. All delicious.
The Saturday before Thanksgiving we went to my mom and dad's house.
I made yams for the first time, nothing too fancy, but they were good!

And of course we had slush! Because it is my favorite.
After dinner Grandma made the cutest little Turkeys with the kids!
She asked what Kasen was going to name his and he said, "Charmin." Later in the car he asked me where Charmin was and I had to break the news that he ate him. "I ate him all gone?!"
Charmin the turkey
On our way home we stopped to visit Grandpa Peterson and say goodbye to him. He passed away the evening of Thanksgiving so I'm glad I got to see him those last 2 times this month.
Thanksgiving Day
I was thinking about doing Eagle Mountain's Turkey Trot that morning, but Kyle was hoping to play in a Turkey Bowl. He ended up finding some guys playing basketball instead though so I ran at home on the treadmill :)

This was our first Thanksgiving with the Treager so we smoked our first Thanksgiving turkey on it! 20 pounds of deliciousness!
Kyle soaked it in a brine overnight and then we smoked it for about 6 hours. Smelled amazing! Tasted just as good.
Then we headed to his parents house for dinner!
Melanie had some gingerbread cookies for the kids to decorate before we ate.
Kasen stuck a smartie on his gingerbread man and told me it was his bellybutton!
Tai would just have me squirt some icing on her cookies and then lick it off, over and over.
While the guys were carving the turkey Kasen kept telling Kyle he wanted some fish. We had to keep telling him he wasn't eating fish though, he was eating turkey! He ate a ton of it too! I was so surprised how much turkey he ate.
I was right when I told Kyle we'd have leftovers. There were 2 turkeys and 2 hams there!

The 4 little girls waiting for their dinner- so stinkin cute.
The only thing that would have made it better would be having Thanksgiving lunch so that I could stay and eat it again for dinner later.
Thanksgiving Three
Today we went up to my mom's house for our third Thanksgiving dinner.
This time I made a raspberry jello salad.
The best part was that Dakota and Natasha moved back from Seattle and I got to meet baby Clark!
Evva even ran and gave me a hug when they came in. Sweetest little girl ever.
It's a good week when we get to spend time with all of our families.
And after dinner we played a new game called Wits and Wagers that was a fun one! Especially since I won the first game.

We even tried making a Thankful tree this year and at least had some fun coloring.
I am thankful for Kasen never keeping his clothes on at home because it
means we have a house warm enough for him to be naked in. I am thankful
for Tai always stealing my food because it means that we have food to
share. And I'm thankful for Kyle hanging up the straightest Christmas lights you've ever seen because it means that he really does love the holidays.
