Last year Ashley and I had decided to plan a girls trip once we were both done nursing our babies so we brainstormed a few places we could go and then decided on Time Out For Women in St. George.
And I am so glad that we did! Even though it was a long wait for November to come.
We hit the road Friday afternoon and made it to St. George with enough time to get dinner at the Pasta Factory. Not to be confused with the Pizza Factory upstairs. Which has the twisty bread sticks, aka the reason we go to such factories. So we bought the bread sticks upstairs at the Pizza Factory and had them deliver them to us downstairs at the Pasta Factory. Problem solved.
Friday night at TOFW was amazing.
We heard Alissa Parker's story about her 6 year old girl being killed in the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and how when we ask for answers we can't expect how or when God will answer us.
Faith is a process. First you hope, then you believe and one day, hopefully, you'll be able to say that you know. Knowing isn't all or nothing and it is okay to only be able to say you believe.
When it seems like He's not answering, look to see where he HAS been in your life and trust Him a little bit more.
Saturday morning we started the day off right with some WAFFLE LOVE!

And then had another amazing day at TOFW.
The theme was Centered in Christ and we heard from: Elaine Dalton, Alissa Parker, Mary Ellen Edmunds, Carol Decker, Anthony Sweat and Laurel Day with music from Jenny Oaks Baker and City of Enoch!
My favorite quote was from Laurel Day,
"In a world full of so many unknowns,
remember that you are not one of them.
You are known by an all-knowing God."
Each person that spoke shared experiences of how being centered in Christ has blessed their life.
We can know and feel and have personal evidence that Christ:
Knows how we feel
Is always with us
Can take our pain, give us peace and heal us
Seeks us out, even when we aren't seeking Him
Wants us to have joy
Knows us
Is a Savior that saves
Works miracles with us
and Loves us.
Jesus IS the Living Christ.
We are ALL experiencing some sort of loss in our lives, but there is joy in the journey.
There are miracles amidst trials.
There are opportunities in our challenges.
I am so happy that I was able to be there with Ashley and hear such wonderful and encouraging words. So many of the things that Ashley and I had talked about in the car ride down were talked about. Not to mention that Ashley was able to find a ticket the week of the event, sold out for months, so that we could go!
Maybe she was scammed, but we'll never really know. All that matters is that they let us in :)
St. George was a little colder than we thought it would be, but when we went to dinner on Saturday we found out that Phoebe's dad, on FRIENDS, is now a waiter at Applebees!
Thanks for a fun weekend Ash! Let's do it again except remember your swimsuit next time K!
(She could legit be a Desert Book model amiright?!)
And our husbands are the best for taking care of our kids all weekend while we went!
Kyle even got our Christmas lights put up, took the kids to church by himself and had the house all clean when I came back. He's the best.
