New Hobbies

There are so many opinions out there about how to be spending time during this quarantine.
Most of them are encouraging everyone to make the most of this free time that we will never have again. Develop new hobbies, learn something new, really appreciate this time with your family etc.
I can't say that I'm that motivated right now, but out of boredom and desperation we have acquired some new skills over here.

1. Puzzles- Never had any desire to do a puzzle before quarantine, but here I am 4 puzzles later pretty proud of myself for doing a 500 piecer solo!
2. Sudoku- Found a Sudoku book in my nightstand. And I have almost completed it- all the way to level 4 difficulty. Boom!
3. Insta-Pot- Finally decided to learn how to use the one I got for Christmas. I have now made 7 pressure cooker recipes, including stuffed peppers and a yummy coconut chicken curry, and mostly figured out how to use it. Including the Saute function, which is actually the Brown button on my pressure cooker.
This was a Honey Garlic Chicken recipe.
Kasen has developed 2 new hobbies too!
Kyle reinstalled Pokemon Go on his phone and has been showing Kasen how to play, so now they go on walks together to catch new Pokemon and Kasen loves it. And I love that they go on walks.
And then since we bought a new Wii sensor bar and have been able to play our Wii again, Kasen has the new hobby of creating mii characters of everyone he knows! Including Kohen. He made Kohen his own mii, complete with a full set of teeth. So now they go downstairs and play games with Kohen and we can hear both Kasen and Tai downstairs yelling, "Kohen won!!"
Tai just loves watching and singing Frozen II and Kyle has been working on finishing the basement. He also finally got to to fishing! He's been planning fishing trips for weeks in a row and Friday he finally had a buddy from work follow through on fishing plans! Unfortunately they didn't even have a bite.

Wednesday we finally had some warm weather and went on our monthly temple date to have a picnic at the temple!
When we got out of the car Kasen said, "My first picnic!" Even though we've has picnics pretty much every time we go to the splash pads in the summer... Haha guess those don't count. Tai was pretty proud of her invention of putting her Cheez Its on her turkey sandwich.
After the temple Kyle took us to try a new ice cream place called Handel's and it was good!! Up there with Cold Stone and super thick. Kasen and Tai loved the Blue Cookie Monster ice cream they got.

Home church is still happening too. Week SEVEN today. Yay for the Book of Mormon videos and our 30 day free trial of Living Scriptures!
Last week the kids colored King Benjamin crowns to pretend being King Benjamin. We have the perfect little cubby downstairs they used as their tower. Except Kasen didn't want to be King Benjamin, he wanted to be King Laban. Haha
We talked about what service is and what it means to serve though and then Kasen gave us a speech about helping people and how having fun is a great thing to do!

We already even had a "tent" to use because Kyle had helped build the kids a fort downstairs just the day before.
Cheers to yet another week of quarantine with these crazies, driving me crazy!
