Spiderman Pool Party!

Today is Kasen's 5TH BIRTHDAY!

Holy Ravioli

So Saturday we celebrated Kasen with all our family and friends at a Spiderman pool party!

It was going to be at our splash pad, but then the city said it wasn't opening anymore so EmmaLee was letting us have it at her clubhouse and pool, but then her pool was closed to fix the filter and then the splash pad decided to open, but then the pool was fixed so we just had it at her pool.

Kasen had started asking for a Pokemon birthday, but I thought he'd like a Spiderman one better so I went for it and luckily he ended up liking it too!
When we got there he came to me and said, "Mom, I don't know what to say when people tell me happy birthday..." I told him he can say "Thank you!" and after that he wasn't so uncomfortable when everyone wished him a happy birthday. I should have told him to say, "You too!"

 

This is my very amateur, 3 layers of chocolate and blue, crumb filled, Spiderman cake.

Kasen also wanted some black and red Spiderman cupcakes like the black Spiderman, Miles Morales, so we made some of those too.

He got all sorts of fun presents from everyone! The Gleue's gave him a nerf gun and some "fart" slime that he and Tai think is hilarious!

Hank and Quinn gave him a Spiderman robot Lego set,

Knox gave him a Pokemon towel that he insisted on using after swimming and told everyone all the Pokemon that were on it,

Aunt Lyndsey gave him some Batman toys to add to his super hero figurines,

He got lots of Spiderman coloring books and I loved how he'd flip though all of them and show everyone! Some from Cooper and Beckett and Whitney's family.

EmmaLee gave him a slip-n-slide that he's excited to try out,

Spiderman bath toys, race track book, shirt and monster truck from Grandma Mel,

And he also got Spiderman walkie talkies from Grandpa Kelly, Wooden cars to build and paint from the Days, a Spiderman wrist shooter from Aunt Krista, AND a certificate to go on a fun date with Grammy Tammy! Cousin Parker and Kyanne even came down from Ogden too.

We sang Happy Birthday and then headed out to go swimming! 

Unfortunately that didn't last very long though because an angry HOA board member, the infamous Becky, came out to yell at everyone about how we can't read and how we can't count cause we had too many people in the gated pool area (even though there weren't too many in the pool). After everyone got out she even came back a 2nd time to yell at us about having one too many people in the hot tub! She was so unbelievably rude.

But it was fun while it lasted!
Thank you everyone so much for coming! It always means a lot.
Later that evening Grandma and Grandpa Forsyth came by to give Kasen a punching ball with gloves and we built Legos and pained cars and threw sticky ninja guys on the wall etc.
This morning he opened his present from Naomi, Marc and Tommy. They sent an adventure pack with binoculars, a compass, a magnifying glass, and a flashlight. He's been trying to use the compass to find Kiwi! Haha

He had a quickball game tonight and then we stopped at the snowcone shack for a post baseball, rainbow birthday snowcone!

Kasen definitely had a good birthday!
And he is so excited to be 5 now! Just like Kallie.
He still loves the color orange,
Strawberry yogurt, peanut butter and jelly, orange chicken, pizza with ranch and spaghetti with meatballs are his favorite foods,
He has to have his Spiderman blanket to sleep (in his underwear) and knows exactly which side he wants touching him,
We still sing "Rainbows" nearly every night before bed,
He sneaks Kiwi into his bed at night and they both fall asleep with her sitting on his chest,
He wants to be a cop when he grows up (strongly discouraged by Kyle) and have 6 babies after he marries Tai,
He LOVES playing Pokemon Go with Kyle,
and I love his good morning hugs.
He can't wait to start Kindergarten in the fall!
