The Garden

Look at how much our garden has grown!

It's turning into a jungle out there.
We've been trying to figure out when it is that we are supposed to pick our vegetables. A few times we have waited way too long to check the broccoli and I learned all about how they turn into yellow flowers if you don't pick them just at the right time.
Our corn is growing though and we have lots of zucchini and yellow squash,
sweet peas and look at how cute that little green bell pepper is!
None of our tomatoes have turned red yet, but
 we have onions and jalapenos!
All the plants that had instructions to plant them in "mounds" did not work. So our watermelon, cantaloupe, cucumbers and pumpkin never grew. Apparently the "mounds" thing does not work at all!
Poor Kyle has been so excited to have a garden since buying a freeze dryer and right when our vegetables are ready to pick, his freeze dryer hasn't been working!
He's still trying to figure out what part needs to be fixed and then will be back in business hopefully pretty soon.
Until then we will bake all the yummy zucchini things with our ginormous zucchinis and our super hard yellow squash!

  1. I am jealous! How do you keep Peeka out of it? I have constant problems with my dogs digging in whatever I plant, especially if new soil is involved. They even dug up my new cherry tree.

    1. Peeka did dig in the garden a couple times and destroyed our pumpkin plant, but then she got in BIG trouble and hasn't really dug in there since!
