Spring break this year was epic! I got to check 2 things off of my bucket list and it was so much fun. Back in December, for our anniversary, Kyle booked us a stay at Mystic Hot Springs in Monroe. It's a little adventure I've been wanting to go on cause I'm a fan of hot springs. I've been to Lava Hot Springs, Crystal Hot Springs, the Homestead Crater in Midway, and of course the Meadow hot springs.
Anyways, part of the adventure is that we got to sleep in this bus! There was a whole row of buses that have been turned into little rooms to stay in and ours even had a deck. Next to the bus with a whale painted on it. Kohen got to tag along on the adventure with us too.
Kyle was pretty nervous when we pulled up and saw how run down they actually were. The door didn't even shut. But they are a lot nicer inside than they seem on the outside. We hung out and Kyle tried teaching me how to play Chess before we went to get hamburgers from Bullies. Kohen got to eat his first French fries there.
The next morning we walked up to the hot springs and soaked in this bathtub for a little while and then went back down to the other bigger pool. Kohen was loving it, but unfortunately hot springs don't have any magical eczema healing qualities.
The next thing I got to check off my bucket list was visiting GOBLIN VALLEY! Kyley and Jordan invited us to go with them on Friday so we did quite the Utah triangle roadtrip.
We came back from Mystic Hot Springs on Thursday, stayed the night at Kyley and Jordan's house, then woke up at 4:30am to drive down to Goblin Valley.
And the kids loved it! Kasen especially loved asking me to take a picture of him on every rock he climbed on. Apparently I have to put them all in a book for him. He would climb to the top and yell just to hear his voice carry. Tai thinks every little hole she sees is a snake hole and will repeatedly yell, "Snake hole!" whenever she saw one.
We packed lunch and later drove over to Little Wild Horse Canyon to hike. Kasen was a champion hiker too. He stayed out in front and just kept going and going. He got in trouble for going too far one time, but we were impressed with how well he did.
I've never hiked in slot canyons before, but I thought it was so cool! And literally it was cool in the canyon too. Even when we had to pass people in the narrow parts and squish against them.
Kohen loved touching the canyon walls as we hiked through. Kyle said he got some weird looks when people saw Kohen's cheeks so I'm sure all summer long people will think that I sunburned my baby to the point of blisters, but oh well! We did sunburn his hands on this trip, but other than that he loved hanging out and chewing on some rocks.
These two are turning into the cutest little best friends.
Monday and Tuesday we went to the park with friends too and my mom and dad came to visit and bring the kids some Easter treats. So it's definitely been a good week.
Except the Eason's are moving this week. They gave us their trampoline, but we sure are sad that they won't be across the street anymore. I always wanted a trampoline growing up. All my friends had one and whenever we'd have sleepovers I'd ask to sleep on the tramp. I'd usually end up staying out there by myself when everyone else got scared and went inside too.
Yesterday we went to Grandpa Kelly's for dinner and the kids got to go for a 4-wheeler ride while some of us played Kubb in the backyard.
I love that it's getting warmer outside. It's going to be a great summer. I can feel it!
