Kasen is SIX years old now!! I can't believe it!
He counted down the days until both his birthday and his birthday party and also let us know when it was his birthday eve. Thursday, on his birthday, we gave him a new bike since his Lightning McQueen one is way too small for him now. This new one is just a little bit too big though. And it has hand brakes that he needs to learn how to us. We also showed him the kick stand and while he was riding it he was telling Kyle how he wished that when he stopped there was someone there to hurry and put it down for him.
The morning of his birthday, he and Tai had their last day of this session of swimming lessons. Which meant it was slide day! So he got to go down the slide on his birthday! They asked him if he wanted to go down by himself, but he didn't want to so his teacher went with him. And of course the feedback we got from Tai's teacher is that she needs to work on putting her face in the water.
The other big birthday plan that Kasen has had for forever is going to Fat Cats. He talks about Fat Cats all the time so I always tell him he can go for his birthday. So we went. Kyle took him for a bit and then we met up with them because Tai wanted to go too.
I was super surprised that Kasen didn't want a Pokemon birthday party. I asked him many times to make sure, but for months he has consistently asked for a Bowser Birthday. So Bowser it was!
Today we went to the splash pad/park by our house to play with all of his friends for a couple hours and have pizza, popsicles and cake. He put up a fight this morning, not wanting to wear his swimsuit, but alas I was right and he did actually play in the water and had fun doing it too!
And Kohen got to play at the splash pad for the first time too! He was loving it.
Kyley made the Bowser castle cake and did a FANTASTIC job! It was exactly what Kasen wanted. She asked him if he wanted chocolate or peanut butter frosting and he picked peanut butter because peasant butter is a super food!
I made a few Bowser shell cupcakes too and the kids helped me put on some of the white chocolate chips.Second year in a row that Little Ceasars has completely forgotten about our order and didn't have it ready to pick up when we got there. They are the literal worst and we won't be ordering pizza from them anymore.
Grandma Forsyth even brought GIANT popsicles for the kids. Kasen couldn't even finish his.
Then we opened presents! Cooper and Beckett gave him Mario Uno and Spiderman Legos, Grandma Forsyth gave him a MewTwo Pokemon binder for his cards and more Pokemon cards, Kyley's family gave him Pokemon jammies (not a swimsuit) and a very rare, very strong Pokemon card that Kasen is stoked about. Grandpa Kelly also gave him a Pokemon card game and a Rubik's cube, Hank and Quinn gave him kinetic sand, Lyndsey gave him a gumball machine, Hayden's family gave him a couple Super Mario monster trucks and a Pokemon stuffed animal, and Grandma Melanie and Jack gave him a huge Spiderman remote control car. Krista was so nice and took him on his first birthday date with her to nickel mania on Monday and he brought home so many fun prizes. Grammy Tammy is also going to take him on a birthday date and he got a birthday card with some money from Great Grandma and Grandpa Forsyth too.
Kasen got so many fun things, thank you everyone!
Right after presents it started pouring rain! Just in time for the party to end. I'm so glad that the kids got to play for a little while before that happened because last year his party was cut short after Becky kicked us all out of the pool! If it's not Becky then it's the rain...
I just love Kasen so much. He is convinced that kids all have super powers. His super power is super speed and Tai's super power is super vision and he can't wait to see what Kohen's super power will be!
Lately he's been praying to bless the galaxy and let us know that that includes the aliens.
I love his good morning hugs and that he still asks me to sing Rainbows at night.
Happy Birthday Kasen.
