Thanksgivings

Thanksgiving 2022

On Sunday we had dinner at my parents house, Wednesday we had dinner at my Mom's house and Thanksgiving Day we spent with both Kyle's parents at Melanie's house! I made a couple homemade apple pies again this year and was grateful that we didn't end up trying to host at our house, like originally planned!

Kyle smoked another spatchcock turkey this year and it was delicious! And I have been eating turkey carcass soup every day since Thanksgiving.
On Saturday we had plans to go see the Tree of Life in Draper. But Kohen woke up from his nap crying that his ear hurt so we stopped by the urgent care first. He has an ear infection, but there is a national shortage of amoxicillin, so they prescribed Augmentin and said we'd have to call to find a pharmacy that had it in stock. Smith's and Walgreens were both out, but luckily Macey's still had some!
So we headed to Draper and stopped at Maverick to grab some hot chocolate. But they didn't have any! We found some at Chevron and headed to the lights!
Which weren't going to be lit for 2 more days. What a bust! We did stop by the Draper Temple on the way home though.

At my Mom's house, she had everyone trace their hands and write down what they are thankful for and favorite family memories. Kasen wrote Jesus, Tai wrote dancing, and I wrote some of my favorite family memories like making and watching home videos, making gingerbread houses and family scrapbook calendars every year, roadtrips to California and Wyoming and learning to drive on the way, and the year of the Dr. Seuss land snowstorm.
I hope my kids cherish the fun family memories we try to make with them too.
I am so grateful I have them in my life to make life so much more meaningful and fun!
