"I Want Candy"

"Follow the yellow brick road!"

It was quite the journey finding Tai's Halloween costume this year. Kasen wanted everyone to be Pokemon and Tai was on board at first. Then she wanted to be Little Mermaid like her cousin Charly and have Kohen be a fish, but when Charly changed her mind then Tai wanted to be a pumpkin. Later she said she didn't want to be a pumpkin, so I suggested that if she wanted to match with Kohen, we had a lion costume for him and she could be Dorothy! She was all for it! So that day I found a costume on Facebook Market and we watched the Wizard of Oz!

"Mom, why isn't it in color?"

"It will be just wait!"

"Mom, why isn't she wearing red shoes?!"

"She will be, just wait!"

I had plans to dress up with Kasen's Pokemon request, but on Halloween I went to volunteer at Tai's class party. So I put together a last minute, DIY tin man costume to wear to her class!

Here's Pikachu! And a pregnant Misty like I promised him. I was extra fun with 2 Halloween costumes and also made Kyle happy by not making him dress up at all. He came with me to both of the kids Halloween parades and some trick-or-treating though! I love the parades. And Halloween! We saw only 1 other Dorothy and 11 other Pikachu.

Tai was so adorably sweet with Kohen! Making sure he got candy and holding his bucket for him.

No matter how many times I tried to show him what one piece of candy looked like, he'd stand there and wait for people to lower the bowel to him so that he could grab a handful! He wouldn't say trick-or-treat either. He would say, "I want candy." And then go put it in his "bucket!"

And when he'd start to get left behind he'd run after us yelling, "Comin Mom!" There were a couple houses he wouldn't walk up to, but just stared at the spooky decorations. Couldn't not look!

Grammy Tammy came down to have white chicken chili and dirt cups with us before we went out.

Kasen was loving how many people gave out full size candy bars or told him to take more than one. "People are being so nice! This is the best Halloween!"

I'm so glad the weather warmed up again because it has been COLD!
