Kasen and Tai have become the king and queen of avoiding vegetables. Whatever it is I try to serve them. They won't eat them! How to kids just decide to hate all vegetables?! I never even force them to eat everything on their plate. Our rule is to at least try one of whatever it is though.
Tai chokes on brussel sprouts, they pick out the tiny pieces of spinach in the pasta I make, Kasen makes me cut the corn off his cob and then still won't eat it, They won't eat cheesy, Alfredo covered broccoli or cauliflower, they eat around any zucchini or mushrooms, spit out beets and won't eat carrots (hard or soft) no matter how much ranch dressing I offer. It's a big 'No' for squash, but the one and only thing they will eat are green beans. With garlic salt. Miracle! Kasen loves pickles, but won't touch cucumbers and neither of them will eat ANY type of potatoes. Sweet, mashed, hash browns, baked, homemade fries- nothing.
They LOVE tomatoes and Tai loves avocado, but I'm pretty sure those are both fruits so does it even really count?
I'm not sure what to do with them! But I'm trying. I've tried peas, I've tried celery, I've tried asparagus, I've tried stir fried bell peppers and more. I've tried telling them that carrots will help them see better in the dark. What else is there?!
In our garden this year we grew cherry tomatoes for the first time and they were a huge hit with Kohen! If we ever left them on the counter, he would climb up and eat all of them. All that would be left were the little green leaves.
We also grew the 2 giant pumpkins that we carved for Halloween. Our corn wasn't as fruitful as previous years and I wasn't a huge fan of the zucchini cause the skin was SO THICK, but we had some spaghetti squash we ate a few times.
Yay for vegetables and yay for gardens!

Sneaky parents put them through a blender and add them to things like spaghetti sauce. You could probably blend cauliflower into alfredo sauce. You can even sneak them into sweet treats like smoothies. You just have to be careful which veggies you choose though, because some of them have strong flavors that don't work. Carrots work really well. I've also put kale in my smoothies without noticing a flavor problem.
