Kyle had to work an overtime shift on Saturday so I told the kids we were going to go have a fun day trip. On our way out of Eagle Mountain we saw 10 hot air balloons and Tai said, "You were right Mom, this is a fun day!"
Our first stop was Meadow Hot Springs. I hadn't been there since before I had kids and it was different. There's not a gate anymore so anyone can drive right up to them. I've only ever been to the one, but I guess there are 2 more and we could see campers, tents, ATVs and shade tents set up around the others. The water level is much lower too.
There were big orange and blue dragon flies flying all around while we were there.
We had a good soak though and even had it all to ourselves for a little bit. Kohen kept getting out though and saying he was freezing. Haha
Our next stop was Cove Fort, where we had a picnic lunch on the grass before taking a tour.
We watched a short video and then went through all the rooms there.
The kids requested a picture of the dormant volcano in the distance, where all the lava rock came from.
And they got toy spinners to play with and keep! Just like I remember getting when I was little.
Our last stop was to visit Great Grandpa and Grandma Forsyth. Grandpa turns 94 years old this week, on the 10th! So we sang him Happy Birthday and visited. Until Kohen would not stop running down the hall. Then it was time to go.
The night before I made the kids lava cake with homemade ice cream and the morning after we made crepes for breakfast.
Feeling like mother of the year this weekend! Glad we could make some worthwhile memories together.
