The morning of the Fourth we woke up at 5am to go run the Freedom Run in Provo! I made us a New Year's rezzy to get Jordan in on a run with the sisters. My 28th race and the uphill part to the finish was not my friend, but we made it! I came in 3rd out of our group with a time of 34:19.
Checked off another holiday race too! I've done a 5K for St. Patrick's Day, the Temple to Temple on the 24th, Halloween, Thanksgiving and the spring Tulip Festival one too.
I feel like I should be better at running by now, but it's still just so hard though! I always run the whole time, but I feel like I can't get a full breath as often as I need to and get headaches afterwards.
But doing races with friends is fun.
We stayed after to watch the parade together too. And learned that Provo parade isn't allowed to throw candy... Pony Express Days Parade > Provo.
Later that day we went to Hayden's house for dinner and fireworks. The cousins all got to play on a waterslide until it got dark.

Kolt needed a verbal acknowledgment of every firework that he saw!
The next day we went to a BBQ at Grandma and Grandpa's house! Marissa, Oliver and Adeline are visiting from Philadelphia. I just love when all the cousins get to play together.
Kolt was freaking us out in this pool. He kept laying down in it so that all we could see were his feet! He would get out and shiver so hard, but want to go right back to swim.

Kyle got about 8 hours of sleep during those 3 days, but still made it to the BBQ. The night of the 3rd he went to clean the temple, woke up at 5am for my race, went to bed around midnight after the fireworks, then got called in to work at 4:30am. Poor guy!
Throwback to these 4 boys in 2022!
Everyone loves drinking Grandma's slush!
The kids were so wiped out by the end of the day. Kohen and Kolt fell asleep on the car ride home and we carried them straight to their beds. They were asleep for the night before 7pm!
