The Rodeo, Bowling, Bike Rides and More

We went to the splash pad one day and had lunch at the park from the Food Bank truck. Then the kids finished their second session of swimming lessons for the summer! I told Kasen and Tai they are done with swimming lessons now after 6 years of summer lessons. They both passed level 3 and I know that can swim well enough not to worry about them in the water. Even though Tai is convinced that she cannot swim without her goggles.

That night we went with everyone to the Ute Stampede Rodeo in Nephi. Kolt was LOVING it! He was dancing and screaming and pointing for all the barrel racers running so fast and the "cows" even though most of them were horses.
The second to last bull rider of the night got knocked out and taken out of the stadium on a stretcher, but he was talking by the time they took him out so he should be alright hopefully.
Does Kohen want to wear his boots to the rodeo? Nope, only to the pool where it's absolutely ridiculous.
Watching for the giant flag to be flown into the stadium. My favorite part!
Thank you Grandpa Kelly!
We drove to southern Utah County for the 5th time in 8 days to see Reagan get baptized! Tai told me that CTR stands for Charly, Tai and Reagan. How cute is that?! Congratulations Reagan!
4th of July, Uncle Blake's Graveside, Reagan's birthday party, the rodeo and then her baptism- all excellent reasons to put miles on the car though.
The week of all the running and hiking we also threw in some biking! We rode to the library to check out more books and the kids are already asking to do it again. Even though Tai crashed into Kasen and I fell off of my bike too. Our bike trailer doesn't have a single strap left to buckle Kolt in, but luckily he stayed sitting down. "Wheeeee!" All Kohen ever wants to do is ride his bike with a friend.
My Mom and Dad also got E-bikes so I went on a ride with my dad around the block to see what they're like. Lots more power than I thought!

I signed the kids up for Kids Bowl Free this summer so we went bowling and only had to pay for shoe rentals! I thought it was worth it. I like bowling and have fond memories of midnight bowling with Kyle and our friends when we were dating.

We were playing games one Sunday and got a good laugh from Kohen's answer to the question I got!
Cute little Kolt with his "Deedee"
I also finally tried making Kyle his cheddar and jalapeƱo sourdough and he said it was SO good. I just took his word for it.
Ashley invited me to another Summerween party this year and Katey was able to come. Ashley did such a great job and it was fun to just hang out and chatting. There was also a gift exchange and a game. Thanks Ash!
We also went to see Hazel play Duchess in the Aristocats play at the Lehi Arts Center. She did so great and inspired Tai to want to be in a play too.
Kasen has been in charge of mowing the lawn this summer and is rocking it! Kohen also learned how to fold his own laundry before I have him put it away so I am stoked about that.
Kyle's summer project (after building the shed) was redoing our deck in the back. Kelly came to help him one day and they got most of it done. Kyle took another day to finish it and a couple more for the railing. Good job Kyle! I'm excited to not have to get slivers out of all the hands and feet now.

This month Tai got to go on a special date with Dad to fish for salmon on Grandma Melanie's boat. She loved it! Minus the sunburn and heat exhaustion. The only picture we have of it is the yummy meal that Kyle smoked for us the next day. The kids all ate it and wanted seconds.
She also got to go with Jaci to Splash Summit that week too. So she's having a fun summer!
Another day Kyle got to go fly fishing with Kyley on the Provo River. They didn't catch anything that day though.
We made it to the temple this month! My parents watched the kids at the same time they did piano lessons with Grandma. Thank you! We always love the time we get to spend in the temple to be reminded of all our priorities and blessings.
