9 Months Out on St Patricks Day

March is such a busy month this year!
Right now Kyle is at a DRE training in Salt Lake for 2 whole weeks! But the good news is that afterwards his graveyard shifts will also be over! Woo hoo!  I hate graves, mostly cause Kyle doesn't really get a day off, or go to bed with me.  And he is crazy.  He sleep walks looking for training babies that are tied up and checking under the bed so he doesn't run over the bishop's son. Haha
Anyway, we are spending some time in Utah county while Kyle is away. By the time April comes I will have driven to Utah County 5 weekends in a row!
And P.S. police officers wives are not exempt from receiving tickets...

Um we went to St. George a couple weeks ago and are still obsessed with Culver's mixers! (Chocolate ones with peanut butter cups)

Sometimes I leave Kasen with Kyle while I go running and Kyle usually has him asleep by the time I'm done, it is the best thing ever!  They are so cute.
I was finally able to run 3 miles outside last week too, so I finally feel confident about running my race next week! Hopefully that day there won't be 25mph winds either.
 Or enormous potholes...

Kasen loves the Valentines bear that Grandma Annette brought down when they came to visit last month, he chews on it and wrestles with it with all his little heart.
I wish he liked playing with his toys all of the time though!

He knows how to open all the cupboards now and likes chewing on the beaters for my hand mixer, or keys, or zippers, or knobs, or anything metal for some reason.

I love watching him play with this car.  It fascinates me that he even knows to push it around on the floor like that.  They learn and grow so fast!
In the late afternoon I've seen him playing with his shadow or the beams of light on the floor.  So curious about everything and I love just sitting there watching him and wondering what in the world he thinks about.

He's starting to understand what no means.  Sometimes he listens, but most of the time he stops to smile at us then just keeps going!
He has to taste everything.  I've heard that is normal though, to act like a puppy dog?...  He licks the floor and bites people's toes, but Kyle still throws any snacks away that touch the floor at a public place.  I personally don't worry as much… Don't tell Kyle.

We have been trying to train him to go to sleep on his own and that has been going alright.
I hope he's able to fall asleep a whole lot faster than I am able to someday!
We've been better about having a nap schedule and a bedtime routine and letting him cry it out sometimes, instead of always nursing him to sleep.  Since then he's only been waking up once or twice in the night instead of 3-4 times! Hallelujah!
I completely understand what it means when people say they want to pull their hair out!  When I am so exhausted and have to wake up for the fourth time to feed Kasen and my little baby hairs (that are finally growing back) just sit and tickle my face the whole time, I literally feel like pulling my hair out!
Last weekend we went to Grandma Sandy's 75th birthday party and Kasen has been loving the balloon we brought home from the party! He pulls the balloon all the way down and just waves it all around, so excited!

I LOVE his faces! He is so funny these days and is such a happy baby!

You could say he loves the bath. And whenever I take off his clothes!
He's tried putting his mouth on the drain a couple times while there is still water in the tub, which is a good learning experience for him :)
The only sad thing is that he has had this rash looking thing for a few weeks now.  I thought it was just dry skin, and it does get better when I put Aquaphor on it at night, but it never goes away.  He has spots on his tummy, arms and legs now so we'll be asking the Dr. about that at his appointment next week!

Other than that Kasen is able to stand by himself and has taken a couple steps, but isn't quite walking yet.
I'll post the rest of the pictures from today when I go back home :)

  1. I bet he is allergic to something. If there hasn't been a change in anything that touches his skin, such as laundry detergents, softeners, or bath products, then it would likely be something that has been introduced into his diet. Do any of his treats come from wheat products, or are they all rice? I have heard that wheat allergies can cause skin rashes.
