Bucket List #90

OH. MY. GOSH.
Last week was all about overcoming obstacles for me!
I'd been training for 8 months to finally check running a 5k race off my bucket list and the week it was time for me to run it, every obstacle happened.
I made a plan to run 3 miles on Monday, 2 miles Wednesday and 1 mile Friday to get ready for the race, but on Monday and Wednesday I wasn't able to run outside with Kasen cause there were 30mph winds here in Cedar City, but I was still able to run on the treadmill and then Wednesday night we went to Utah County.
That night though we woke up to the sounds of a fire hose.  Kasen was throwing up EVERYWHERE!
So I was up with him most of the night.
I'm like a real mom now that I've not just been spit up on, but legit vomited on as well!

We thought he had just eaten something that upset him so Thursday we went to meet CHARLY!
She is Kasen's 5th cousin and has way more hair than he does.  She is so cute and little!

But Thursday night I got sick and was up all night again and throwing up all morning on Friday.
March 25th is a cursed day too because the last time I was that sick was that same date, 3 years ago!
I was well enough to celebrate Mom Annette's 50th birthday that night by watching the home videos we had made into DVDs for her and since Kyle finished his DRE training that day (with a 93% on his final test!!) I was excited to get a good night sleep Friday.
But Kyle was sick that night instead.

Then Saturday morning came.  I hadn't really slept for 3 nights in a row, lost any liquid I had out of both sides of my body and wasn't able to run outside the whole week.
But I am stubborn.
So I met Ashely, Lyndsey, Melanie and Marissa in Alpine on Saturday morning and we all ran the Pink Series 5k race! It was so great!
I was able to run the whole time with out stopping, I didn't poo my pants and we all finished in 36 minutes!
I would definitely run another race, especially when I have such great girls to run with me!
And even though Kyle was still sick he brought Kasen to watch me cross the finish line!
Mom Tammy, Emma, Josh, Jake, Kelly, Bentley and Kennedy we all there cheering us on too.

By the end of the weekend Mom Annette, Dad, Jake, Ben, Kelly, Bentley and Kennedy had all had a turn being sick and throwing up.  I have never experienced a flu that CONTAGIOUS ever and am so glad that Jordan and Kyley didn't get it!
Sorry to everyone that got the plague from Kasen!

This is how much weight I lost trying to train for this race.
CRAZY.
But health is not about how much you weigh or how skinny you look.  It's about feeling good.
My only goal was to run a 5k, never to just lose weight.
Exercising and finding healthy food that you love is worth feeling great though!
For me it's shredded wheat with bananas, greek yogurt with granola and strawberry banana smoothies!
