I have a weakness.
I know it's bad, but I really have a serious lack of empathy for those that beg for money on the side of the road. Don't get me wrong, I am willing to help care for the poor and the needy (sometime each one of us will need a little help), just not by handing money out of my car window.
I feel sorry that so many people have reached a point in their life that they feel the only option left is to beg for money and that some really are homeless, but when they are standing on the same corner with a million now hiring signs all around them it just makes me wonder... I know I shouldn't judge or comment on things I don't completely understand, because I have no idea what got them to that point, but seriously. I guess I'm one of those naive people who believe that if you can stand outside holding a sign you could stand inside a business to earn your own money instead. I believe anyone could do more to help them self than to just beg for money.
And there are hundreds of jobs!
Everyone needs to stop saying that there are no jobs.
And they aren't even all fast food or retail either.
Mountain States Steel, Vinyl Industries, Home Depot, American Fencing, Myler Disability Law Office, Great Clips, Top Stop, American Preparatory Academy, Woodspring Suites Hotel, Doug Smith Car Dealership, Skip Dunn and Sons Excavating, Sunroc, UDOT, Reagan Construction, Hadco Construction, Farr West Roofing, Car washes, Challenger School, the hospital ALL have NOW HIRING signs!
How are any one of these jobs not better than begging for money? Maybe you won't get paid as much as you want or have the schedule you want at first and maybe you'll need to put in the time to be reliable and work your way up to a better position, but so do we all.
Everyone else that has to have a job and actually pay taxes should not be responsible for other people's free rides.

So go get a job!

You're going to have your liberal card pulled for that, you know.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I ever had a liberal card! lol
