Risk of Death

Kyle has been a Police Officer for 4 years now and last weekend I was finally able to go on my first ride along! (Which was also my first night away from Tai) But first I had to sign a waiver that said "risk of death" 4 different times!
He was supposed to be off at 1:30am but I didn't get into bed until 4am. Such is the life of a cop.
We were at an apartment where 4 people were arrested for having marijuana, cocaine and resisting the officers.  They wouldn't open the door so after writing a warrant it got booted open instead.  They burglarized another home trying to run away.
I stayed in the car, but I could hear what was happening over a mic that Kyle was wearing.  It was an exciting night, witnessing the stupidity of the human race.
More civilians should go on ride alongs for sure. Those that complain about cops actions usually have NO IDEA what the laws actually are or their reasons for doing what they do. Yes, some things could be handled better sometimes and not every cop does everything the best way all the time, but at least when you mess up at your job you don't have to worry about the entire country demanding that you go to jail.
If every profession were to be lumped together the way police officers are then that would mean that EVERY teacher has sex with their students, EVERY doctor writes their own prescriptions and abuses drugs and EVERY lawyer is an unethical liar.
The MAJORITY of cops do their job and do it WELL. For that I will back the blue every time, because the media wants to tell the story that gets the biggest rise and the most money.
There are always 2 sides to EVERY story. That I have learned many times.  Complain about cops if you want, but don't go around lumping all the good ones with the teeny tiny percent of bad ones because that makes you just as ignorant.
