Fly With Me! Kasen Turns 3

My little baby Kasen boy is THREE years old.
I made a little video to interview him and it cracks me up! And you can totally see his ADD coming out in it. I'm so glad I made it because I don't want to forget what he is like right now.
He is rocking potty training and only wears diapers at night.
He had his first happy meal a week ago and has never worn a band aid.
He has still never been to see a movie in a theater, but loves going to the splash pads and swimming with his friends! His new thing to say is, "Nice to meet you!"

We had a blast celebrating him on Saturday. He found the show Super Wings on Netflix a while ago and fell in love so we decided to do an airplane/Super Wings birthday party for him.
Every time I asked him what he wanted for his birthday he'd say, "A Super Wings one."
So for part of his birthday present we took him flying on Ben's airplane back in May to get some cute pictures for his invitations.
We got one picture with this $10 balloon before Kyle poked in into the plane propeller and popped it!
Bless his heart.

And the rest of the story from that eventful day is on another blog post!
He got an early birthday present from his friend Knox, who wasn't able to come to his party, and has loved playing with this big airplane!

Then Saturday was the big day!
When he woke up and I told him that it was his birthday he said, "Sing happy birthday to me mom!"
I had been making things and folding paper airplanes for a month and was so happy that everything worked out like I hoped! It was the perfect day.
I designed all these signs that we used in Photoshop and the frames were only .99 cents at IKEA.
On the back side of them I printed out some of Kasen's airplane pictures to put in.
I also designed these Jet boxes in Photoshop and put them on some cake boxes I bought.
On the Super Wings show Jet delivers packages that look like this so I thought it would be a cute way to serve our in flight snacks of individual trail mix and pretzels!
I did not design these Jet fuel wrappers though. Someone else on Pinterest provided a template from their party that I was able to just print out and wrap around these juice boxes. I love it!
I think my all time favorite thing though was the cupcake toppers I made! Also, another idea I stole from Pinterest.
I tried making a layered cake for the first time, which was an epic fail. The top layer totally fell apart and it all got thrown away. So this is cake #2, no layers.
I made 5 of these paper airplane banners to hang around our kitchen to decorate. One of them is in Kasen's room now, per his request.
These little candy airplane party favors were probably the biggest headache of all the things I put together for the party!
I searched grocery stores and called candy stores trying to find single, 3 inch tootsie rolls. Finally someone of Facebook told me that Maverick has them! Also, the only place that has Zebra Fruit Stripe gum is Cracker Barrell. In Springville. So we stopped there on our way south and poor Kyle ended up throwing away my paper bag full of gum! So I had to make a second trip to go buy the gum.
But it was worth it cause they are freakin adorable!
The balloons I bought the night before were on the floor when we woke up so Kyle went back down to Smith's to exchange them! How do balloons not last longer than that anymore?!
Anyways, I was pretty proud of myself for putting this whole party together for about $150.
That includes invitations, decorations and food for 45 people. Good right?
Maybe not, I don't know.
I had 2 little activities for the kids at the party.
We made paper airplanes to fly through these holes I made.
And some Super Wings character coloring pages!
Then smoked hot dogs and chips for lunch!
I just love how stinkin happy he is!
Thank you so much Ashley for this picture! You are the best best best.
I feel bad because he was tearing through presents too fast for me to remember who gave him which things. I will try to remember what I can though.
Grandma and Grandpa Forsyth gave him a Minion Kite, Cache and Nayvi gave him a water wow book, Grammy Tammy gave him an easel with art supplies, Kallie and Reagan gave him a Nerf gun, Josh and Marissa gave him some squirt guns, Link and Cora gave him a fishing game and some construction trucks,
Christian, Hank and Quinn gave him two big Super Wings toys,
Krista and Lyndsey got him some of the cutest books!
One you use a flashlight to see hidden pictures in the pages. Kasen loves flashlights and is always trying to steal Kyle's off his belt when he's leaving for work. Krista also got him a wooden tool box.
 His little bum crack!
Whitney gave him a beach towel, an airplane and this shirt that he immediately put on! lol
Then Hazel gave him some fun squirt guns, and Cooper and Beckett gave him a bucket of bubble toys.
Kyley's family gave him this cute fishing game and some other things that I missed.
And he got a Buzz Lightyear from Grandma and Grandpa Liddiard!
Kasen's been doing pretty well sharing all his new toys with Tai too.

Thank you SO MUCH everyone that came and made Kasen's birthday! Thank you for all of the wonderfully fun gifts!
We love all of you and love that you are in our lives. Thank you for spending the afternoon with us!
And here's to having to pay for him wherever we go now,
Cheers!
